Filing a Sig Front Sight???
With all due respect to Bullseye's experience and expertise if that Sig 239 has fixed sights it is most likely the 3 dot variety. Filing on the front sight is not going to do much good as it is the alignment of the 3 dots that determines where the gun is going to shoot. Filing won't move that front ...

Bullseye, Thanks. I'll give them a look. On the new P345 Ruger is using a very wide dovetail. I don't think it is the same as on the other P series guns. But the front dovetail is probably the same. The three dot sights that are stock are probably fine for most younger folks. Although the dots are n...

Sights for Ruger P345
I'm shooting a Ruger P345 in IDPA locally. Love the gun and I'm happily using it in SSP understanding the tradeoffs of using it against all the 9's in that class. I mainly shoot IDPA for my own training and practice so I don't much care about how I do compared to other folks. But I need to try and g...

Firm Grips
The limp wristed grip has definitely been known to cause ejection and feed problems. It even makes logical sense that if you are allowing your hand/arm/frame of the gun to move backwards at the same time that the slide is moving backwards then you won't get the relative movement needed to accomplish...

Thanks Bullseye, I knew you had to dry fire to break them down but I didn't remember reading in the manual that it was OK for regular dry fire practice. Next time I have the manual out I'll have to look for it. I don't know if I'll dry fire 50K worth but any regular practice will put more stress on ...

Dry Firing
Does anyone know the straight info on whether a Ruger Mark III is safe to dryfire? I've always been reluctant to dry fire a rimfire rifle or pistol for fear of damaging a firing pin. But I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Ruger Marks have a firing pin stop that prevents the firing pin fro...

Calling VQ
Bullseye, I remember reading your posts about contacting VQ. That is not what I was referring to. I distinctly remember someone other than yourself having posted that they had already spoken with VQ and that the Mark III grips were coming in just a few weeks. But that was back in mid-summer I believ...

VQ Grips
Hmmmmmm. I could have sworn I read somewhere that VQ was going to be coming out with a MKIII version of their grips fairly soon. I believe I read it over on MarkII.org

Grip Screws
Yeah, I tried some Pachmyer grips on mine because I found them pretty cheap at a local gun shop. They were a definite improvement on the factory grips but they had to be carved on a little. Getting them on was a real pain because the factory grip screws just barely reached the threaded holes. I am w...

Unfortunately I believe that is probably it. Works that way for other stuff. Like toilet paper, beer, candy, etc.package-count should not be a different 'product number' ...

VQ Sear
Hmmmm. I thought there was a slight difference between the sears. But if they are the same then I will get one ordered tonight. Maybe it is the hammer I was thinking about.

I'd like to do that myself.
I've got a notion to do the same thing myself but last time I checked they don't sell the sear for the Mark III separately yet. I really don't think I need the whole kit for a decent trigger pull. I'll have to give them a call a see if they will sell it separately.

Motivation
The CMP award sure looks like a difficult achievement. At my age, especially with my current leve of shooting, it is probably unrealistic. But the NRA program looks like good motivation to improve. It gives me something to work towards. The current requirements are for a 269/300 or better in a 30 sh...
