S&W model 41 locking cam stuck !

I was trying to install the barrel back on my 41 today and found that the locking cam is stuck in the closed position. When I pull down on the trigger guard the cam doesn't move at all. Not sure if it jumped out of position or what. I have another 41 and when I compare the force required to pull dow...

Re: MARKII jamming

Problem went away after I installed a factory extractor that I had left over from another pistol.

Don't understand it but I ran a couple of mags thru it without any issues.

MARKII jamming

Have a problem I am hoping one of you guys and help me solve. The gun is a Mark II frame with a ten inch fluted Tac Sol upper. Ruger stainless mark II bolt. With the factory upper it ran flawless. Since the TAC SOL upper was added it will get a fail to extract every so often. Maybe one round in five...

Security Six Hammer problem

I have a 1976 4” security six. A few days ago I disassembled it to replace the serrated trigger with a smooth trigger. I got the trigger group reinstalled without any problems and when I pull the hammer the transfer bar moves as it should and the cylinder rotates as it should. My problem is installi...

Just spoke with the gun's owner. He said he did the slingshot mod to it but that it was done way before the problems began.

I told him time come over to my house and I'd detail strip it and run it thru my ultrasonic cleaner.

Thanks

22/45 cycling issues

A friend has a 22/45 that locks the bolt open in the middle of a fully loaded magazine. We shoot rimfire matches every month. Last month it happened at every stage of the match. He has owned this gun about 7 months. The problem just recently started. Today he fired 300 rounds and it happened just ab...

Yea. I really felt like it was nothing more than an expensive paperweight. I have so many other guns that this was just a pain. No time to mess with it. When they offered a refund I really didn't think twice.

Last Update

Well I though it was fixed....I put a smaller red dot on it for my wife to shoot; went out to the range to zero it and the light primer strikes started again. I called Brownells, I had bought it through them, and told them I now had a $360 paperweight. Even though I had bought it back in June, they ...

I am a regular competetor in our Ruger rimfire matches. Several folks have been using the Browning 22 1911s. They all seem to like them.

Danm Bullseye..your one smart fella.

It was the hammer pin. The frame was shipped back & forth to VQ without grips. PIn must have gotten bumped when they shipped it back.

works like a champ now.

thanks

Got the frame back from VQ last week. The invoice said they replaced the hammer & sear. New problem arose; now the bolt is dragging on something in the frame. With the barrel unattached to the frame the bolt moves freely. When I assemble the gun, the bolt has resistance when moving. It will not clos...
