Re: About gone but not forgetten

I hear you loud & clear. Not a lot new on my end. I also retired this year in Jan. So far just enjoying not doing a thing. Acquaintances keep asking if I'm lookina for a. And thats where I shut them down with a resounding NO. I didn't retire to go onto something else. I retired because I got tired o...

Re: I'm going to try to make Camp Perry this year

Well as most already know, Perry didn't happen this year. Atterbury didn't either, but Canton & Cardinal did. Going to try for the Trifecta next year. Cardinal center 7/5 to 7/6, then Canton 7/9- 7/10, then Perry 7/13 - 7/18... Maybe. Tremors getting ugly on the right hand. What used to be a hard 9 ...

Re: About gone but not forgetten

Got back from the Desert Midwinter in Phoenix on Wednesday. 1105 emails to be responded to or deleted (my favorite) and nearly 20 voice mails to be returned. And these are the ones the CSR's didn't take care of. Oh well, got to pay if you're gonna play. Shot horribly for an expert (mid sharpshooter ...

Re: About gone but not forgetten

Hey Guys, Hope everyone had a great Christmas & wishing you the best in the new year. Still alive & kicking in ND.  I have the same feelings about this site. Used to be a daily, sometimes hourly visit. Now it seems like a monthly check in is all I get done. New acquisitions: 3T S&W ...

Post from the Bullseye List-magazine test

Below is a thread from the Bullseye List. Yeah I clipped & pasted, but we need some movement on GTO. Al Accuracy Testing article in Shooting Sports magazine I_icon_minipost by Wes Lorenz Today at 1:04 am I discovered mags can make a difference as shown in the pictures. Almost all of the wide shots c...

Re: What's with slow GTO?

Been wondering the same thing. Shooter friends tell me Bullseye is dead. No, not that Bullseye. CMP has killed Hardball. No, not me. The game requiring Hardball, with all the relaxed rules. Those of us with real Hardball achievements can stay proud. Users browsing this forum: Hardball and 0 guests ...

Re: Williams Fire Sights, almost

Good luck with the retirement, second time around. My FIL had to retire 3 times before it finally took around age 70, same with my own Dad except he farmed & raised cattle & horses. Dad finally rented out the crop land, then sold off the range cattle a few years later. Never could sell the horses, t...

IIRC, Gil Hebard used to sell grip panels for the RH left eye cross dominant 1911 shooters.

Bullseye's spot on. I've been a Hunter Ed instructor for over 20 years, every class I go through a eye dominance test with them. Cross dominance is much higher in females than males.

bluing

If you ever get a wild hair and want to try a cold rust bluing, keep this stuff in mind. I did a new Caspian wad gun and an older (rough shape MKII) with it this spring. Came out really good. far better than the Birchwood casey products, Brownells Oxopho bluing, or 44-40 I've tried in the past. http...

I'm thinking it's in the thought process. With no concrete plans for that big a change for at least the next 5 years. But changes do have to be made on the target turning equipment. Elevated shooting points and elevated target turners would be nice. Having a covered firing line would be really, real...

Perry

Well Bullseye, you missed a memorable one. Thursday, 22 day, was a miserable rainy mess. My point wasn't as bad as some, but muck boots were the order of the day. Some incredible scores were shot in spite of the wind & rain (not by me) Friday and Saturday were really nice. Fairly calm conditions and...

When it counts, like competitive match shooting, I only rely on Ultradot. Other brands seem to loosen up their intensity knobs and that is what typically causes intermittent dot presentations. R, Bullseye +1 I've been using UD's for well over 200,000 rounds, nearly 65,000 of those being 45's. I use...

I have a good drill press, but no mill. So I guess I could have used the press to keep things aligned. My issue is that you don't have the same "feel" when doing things with a press. And, all my tapping experiences have been by hand, I know what that feels like. I just wouldn't trust myself any othe...
