Re: Do you have plans for a MKIV detail strip how to?

I just want to give you a great big thanks for the detailed strip of the Mark III. It has saved me several times. I have also sent several people from my gun club in the Kansas City area to this site and they have also used the detailed strip for their Ruger. I just purchased a Mark IV Tactical 2 da...

Whistle Pig Barrels

I am going to build a 10/22 Ruger for friendly target shooting competition. Is the Whistle Pig barrel competitive or do I need to get a match grade barrel, like a volquartzin and pay $400 to be competitive? Any one out there using a Whistle Pig?

The $70 model was indeed the Merit. The Hyskore looks the most like the Farr model the guy was using. The Farr model only covered the lens on the eye used for aiming, rather than spanning the entire glasses frame. I did not consider this model because my shooting glasses are not flat with wire frame...

Using a diopter for open site target shooting

I shot with a guy a few weeks ago who used a diopter device and he shot really well. I think he told me a company named Farr made the device. It is two round pieces of thin cardboard with different size holes. I don't know how many holes on the inner wheel, but it appeared to be about four on the ou...

Ok guys, thanks for the input. I found a guy on gunbroker.com who will do a trigger job for $25.00 plus $5.00 return shipping. I don't know if he installs any new parts, but he claims he can take a 7# trigger down to 2 to 2-1/2#'s. He says he has 12 years experience as a gun smith/armorer. I may giv...

Ruger 10/22 trigger jobs

What is the best and most economical trigger job for a 10/22 Ruger?

Also Bullseye, Do have a detailed disassembly/assembly site for the 10/22 trigger much like the site you referred me to for my Ruger 22/45 MK III pistol?

A guy in my gun club shoots a Les Baer Hardball .45 and consistently shoots above 850 with iron sites. They aint cheap though. They run around $1900.

Mostly friendly local indoor Bullseye competition without the expense of an accurized pistol. Out of the box stock manufactured accuracy. Kimber or colt or something else in the $1100 price range.

45 cal. 1911 purchase

I am looking for the best buy on a 1911. I am looking at a Kimber Gold Match II and a Colt Gold Cup Trophy. Any opinions on which is the best and most accurate of the two or any other pistol you may think is more accurate? I am talking production guns un-accurized.

Re: 1911

bearandoldman is right on the money. The Springfield Milspec's are some of the tightest inexpensive 1911's on the market. I work part time in a local gun store. Last summer they had about a dozen Springfield Milspec's in stock. I examined them and found 5 of them to be the tightest factory fitted 1...

Casting Bullets

I have a Lee reloading kit and the dies for my 9mm handgun. I have been purchasing FMJ 115gr bullets from Cabelas for about 11 cents apiece. I have been concidering casting my own lead bullets. I have a source for lead at 1/2 the market value. I was talking to a fellow at a sporting goods dealer the...

.45 cal 1911

I would like to get a .45 cal 1911 to use in Bullseye shooting. Does a guy just buy a decent 1911 and have a gunsmith accurize it or do you go to the gunsmith to buy a pistol he has already accurized? How much of a tighter group does an accurized 1911 shoot compared to a quality 1911 that has not be...

AR15.com website register

Tried to register at AR15.com today. I am unable to pass the code verification test. I do not know what they want me to enter. All I see on my screen is a 2 and part of a number below the 2. This on on a rectangular image with a slot cut out at the bottom. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?
