thin rims?

I had a problem with my mark 2 that would not ignite rounds where the cartridge had it's rim on the thin side. I would get a shallow firing pin hit but no ignition. In my case I saved a number of the cartridges that would not fire even with multiple tries and measured the thickness of those rims and...

have to learn to feel

Dial or electronic calibers will do ok, if you read the manuals most state that they are rated to plus or minus .001 of an inch but I have used many that are far more accurate depending on the operator. Part of the deal with calibers is you can manipulate the reading by how hard you squeeze them, ba...

ammo and components selling fast

I called the company that makes Federal ammunition and components. I had a good chat with one of there reps, it seems that federal is making ammo 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can not keep up with the demand for ammo right now. I was specifically looking why small pistol primers are so hard to f...

What a winter of change in Air Pistol

Just felt like sharing some of my winter of change. I have been working on my Air Pistol shooting, indoor international 10 meter and had a revamp this winter to try and get those last few pellets in working toward my Distinguished level. One of the "kids" who went through our youth shooting and ende...

head space on ruger Mark 2

It has been a long time since I posted anything but just wanted to share a head space issue with a MarkII I picked up. The fella I purchased it from warned me it would misfire now and then. Sure enough, sometimes 4 or 5 rounds would not go bank and not eject in a box shells. After playing around for...

+1 for square B

I used a square B for 44 mag for years. Works like a charm, compact and easy to keep in tune. Extra primer tube and tips are helpful along with the primer flipping tray. As for Dillion's customer service, amazing. I picked my square B up from a garage sale, 25 bucks. It looked like it has been in a ...

measure rim on 22 ammo

Long ago I remember gage you could buy to measure the rim on 22 ammo to seek similar size rounds. I was wondering if anyone in here currently measures and sorts there ammo for rim thickness, over all length or some other key feature to help minimize flyers.

Thanks

shot steel today

Well, I took out my old single shot with the new scope and shot my first steel silhouette with it. Out of 40 I managed to hit 11 which is a good starting point for the first time. To make things more interesting it was indeed snowing like crazy but that did help dope the wind. So, a start of 11, I h...

Lee works fine

I have been using a Lee hand primer for years with no problem. Mine came with the anvils for both large and small primers, just used the shell plate for my reloader for what ever caliber I am working with. One note, a friend had a Lee hand loader do a pop one day. After he called Lee it is a good id...

Bullseye... Thanks, I never considered a log with the detail you mention, will start this week as I can see some benefits to look back on. Have to agree, concentration is a must, I saw a marked jump in my scores when I put on hearing protectors which helped shut out people talking and general chatte...

good target then bad

This winter I have been shooting indoor air gun at my sportsman club. The pistol I am using is a Pardini so it is excellent. Maybe one of you folks can give me something to work towards my problem. I am working on the expert level, basically I have to shoot basically 80 or better. What I find happen...

Thanks

Hey, great looking chart. Last weekend I was working on figuring out where I was at different yardage, 25 (zero) 50, 75 and 100. What I found in the field was darn close...about 1/4 inch at 50, 3 inches at 75 and almost 6 inches at 100. Darn that chart would have saved me time. This Sat I will be si...

Anyways..my new scope came in..a RWS 3 to 9 with milldots. Hot darn, on top of my old Mossburg 320A. I purchased this gun when ...
