That's what I thought, but when I copy and paste, I get this. Damn I hate computers!

Picked up my .22 revolver this morning. LGS said he had a surprise for me. The box. It's a 4" blue Combat Masterpiece. Inside the box is the original owners manual. Beneath the owners's manual was a receipt for a target trigger ($9.00 including labor) dated September 30, 1957. If someone could give ...

I couldn't find much on the internet either. I called Smith this morning. Since there is no model number in the yolk (he said they started that in 1957) and a 4" barrel, the guy I talked to said it was a pre-18 Combat Masterpiece.

Can't wait to shoot it.

Thanks for the info.

No, no model number on yolk. Newer Smith's put the model number there (my 686 and 28 do), but nothing on this one. I'll give Smith a call tomorrow. I've heard Customer Service will tell you what and when over the phone. Whatever it is, it was too nice to pass up for $400.

Solved-Smith and Wesson 22 revolver (Thanks to Georgezilla)

I've been looking for a 22 revolver for several months now, and happened by a local shop yesterday that has a lot of used guns (consignment and estate sales). They had (past tense because I bought it!) what they called a S&W M&P 22lr for $400. The old saying if it sounds too good to be true it proba...

My shooting buddy has a MkII 10" blue slabside. Needless to says, it shoots pretty well.

After I shot it the first time, I bought my MkIII. Way too much fun to pass up.

I have 5 semi's and 2 revolvers (both S&W-686 SSR and Model 28.) Prefer the revolvers. More accurate, more flexible (38-357, strong/weak loads), don't have to bend over to pick up brass (really important), and what's really cool, is how every one looks at you when you send a full power 357 loads dow...

I spent a while with my M&P9 shooting low left and having fits. I was about ready to take a 5-lb hammer to it. Sent it back to Smith and got the front sights fixed. It's been great since. The rest of my S&W's have been pretty good. Most of my purchases are older models, though. I think the older Sm...

I sent my MKII back to Savage to have them take a look at it almost a month ago. Have not heard from them. I wrote a 3 page letter as to what I had tried, ammunition used, and included targets. We'll see what they say. But if it doesn't shoot better, I'm with BAOM-it will be packing it's bags lookin...

Hakaman, I agree with about S&W quality. I have an M&P9 and 686 SSR Pro Series that I had to return. Couldn't hit squat with the M&P, nor could anyone who tried it. They replaced the front sight with a lower one, but still wasn't great. I put a set of XS Big Dots on it and made all the difference in...

TB, if my targets were like that I'd be happy too. I've done some research with this thing and, the first shot goes about 2" at about 7:00, the second about 1-1/2" at 11:00, then settle in and shoots. This is after 5 fouling shots, then letting the barrel cool for 10 minutes. Tried several brands of...
