Re: Adjust sights, or adjust me?
I told him I felt like that was cheating, that at this stage as a beginner I should fix whatever I am doing to be high. I've seen people in my league think the same way. They sighted in their pistol resting on the bench, and think they need to adjust their technique to bring the center of their gro...

I think I am shooting what you are looking for. Marvel Conversion on a Rock River lower, with a Rock River steel scope mount, with a 30mm Ultra dot. I bought the completed lower from Rock River. Not cheap, but then good things never are. I also bought the steel scope base from them. I don't know if ...

You already answered your own question. The front sight is too high. I would probably go with the file. Set the rear sight in the middle of its travel, then adjust a little at a time with the file. Go in small amounts until you are happy with the result. You can darken the top of the front sight wit...

There always seem to be a few rounds that miss the catcher. To avoid bending down, my friend made a tool from a collapsing car antenna or a presentation pointer, not sure which. All he did was bend an "L" on the tip. It stays folded in his gun box until he needs to pick up brass. Then he extends the...

My Bullseye load is: 200 grn Lyman cast Bevel Based Wadcutter - sized .452 4.2 grns Bullseye CCI 300 Large Pistol Primer I haven't fired these from a Ransom Rest yet, but they seem to be accurate and function in my Rock River without any problems. To get the volumes I need, I size with a Magma - Sta...

Well, I've gone through 3,000 rounds of the first case. Most went through the Marvel conversion and some through the Mark II. I think there was one failure to fire and one stove pipe. Excellent reliability, but I keep my guns and magazines very clean. I loaned some to two friends, both with HiStanda...

Re: Ruer Mk III trigger pull
Can I successfully decrease my trigger pull on a MK III 10/45 by reworking the original factory parts? I do not really want to spend the $100 or more for an accurizing kit. I disassembled the pistol, using bullseye on-line instructions, which by the way were excellent, and polished the seer, hammer...

Looks like maybe a 9mm. It had to hit pretty hard to deform like that. Bullets shot straight up tend to tumble and fall pretty slowly. Learned that on Myth Busters. Big surprise. I think it was shot at something pretty hard and bounced off. We actually found a similar bullet in our parking lot. Ours...
