I sure am glad that you posted about the sight instructions, Bullseye. Without that I bet it would have been a bit of a head-scratcher, getting it all together.

I'm ordering a couple of sight blades today, narrow and wide.

Will sight blades for the Mk I and Mk II fit the MK III?

I ask because all of the parts at Brownells say MK I and Mk II.

It will be busy right at first, possibly, but there will be plenty of slow times, most especially in the first year or two. One advantage here is that we are starting up with zero debt. Everything's paid for and there is backup income, so my son and I won't have to worry about money issues so much a...

This is one of those places where "swamp coolers" or "water coolers" are popular. They work very well due to the low humidity, cooling you off and hydrating the air a bit at the same time. This high up, just getting out of the sun during the summer will generally cool you off. Big hats are popular. ...

Desert Guns

I moved to a high desert location a few years back, from a place 25 miles inland with 29 feet altitude. Now my elevation is around 4500 feet, with very low humidity. Last year, I noticed that the frets on my Stratocaster guitar were sticking out on either side of the fingerboard. - enough so as to c...

Cartoon Contest

You know those 'bug lights' that attract insects with UV light, then zaps them? I wonder how useful it might be if gun clubs around the country sponsored 'Mohammed Cartoon Contests' on the bug-light principle? Shooters and local artists could join forces to establish that no, there are no 'ifs, and ...

I use the drill-press and its vice when I can. Sometimes though, I have to tap by hand. Either way, using a tap always makes me a bit nervous, so I take it extra slow. Once I had to tap a hole for a Winchester shotgun and it required a 1/4-24 tap. The odd-ball tap was hard to find, but finally I fou...

Ruger Mk III Hunter sights

I have removed the scope from my Hunter, wanting to use iron sights. The front sight I have now is off of a Marlin model 60 semi-auto rifle .22, the sights interchange perfectly and now I have a square post up front instead of a day-glo bead. Now I have to deal with the V-notch rear sight, hopefully...

Flitz on a bore-mop sounds good to me. Do it a little, clean it and check for improvement, then if necessary do it a bit more. It's better to 'sneak up' on just the right amount of polishing than to over-do it. Before polishing though, I would use a magnifier to examine the cylinders for possible fi...

My Glock 29 in 10mm had brisk recoil, but it wasn't painful to shoot. Practicing, I usually fired a magazine-load at a time with no ill-effects. The worst part was tracking down the empties so I could reload them, it really flung them away hard. Once I fired a Charter Arms snubby in .38 special thou...

They really missed the boat by not coming out with a 41 special, at the same time that the 41 magnum was being introduced.

Everybody's going to laugh, but lately I've seriously been considering a SAA in 32-30 for a carry gun. Probably with a 5 1/2" barrel. The open carry law here in Texas is currently being voted on. You still have to take the course and have a CC license, but with the new law there is no penalty if som...

This is what naturally follows when fascists, I mean leftists are allowed to take over the news media.

They have the news media, the entertainment media, the universities and now the grade schools... - What could go wrong?

Same deal with the military going over to 45 after 38's did not have enough grunt during the Boxer rebellion in China, then flip-flopped back to the 9mm to make the Euros happy, and are now looking again for something with more grunt. I'm surprised that the high velocity 22's like the 5.7x28 haven't...

That kind of range requires a walk-through and visual verification that it is clear, with each use.
