I've looked at the forum on my Nexus 7 tablet a few times, when I was in the hospital, but I never tried to post at those times.

I make it a special point to avoid the use of cell-phones.

For a rear sight, I'd make a cantilever affair that bolts to the picatinny rail screw holes, going back over the slide to the rear, where the rear sight would be located. It might be possible to make a thin washer that goes between the barrel and the compensator, and mount a front sight blade to tha...

Looks to me as if it is set up for use with a scope or a holographic sight.

I'd check with the mfg to see if there's a picatinny rail for it.

A great moment of nostalgia, looking at the pics of that beautiful model 41. I had one in the early 80's with the short bull barrel that was outfitted with Conetrol scope mounts and a 2x scope. (Leupold, I believe. ) I used it as a small game gun, and wound up trading to a friend for something that ...

I've been trying to work out an adjustable over-travel stop for the trigger on my Winchester/Mikuru 1885 falling-block. I did trigger work on the 1885 recently that got the trigger pull down to two pounds. Then I fired ten rounds to see how it did. - It did OK. Am also getting ready to rust-blue an ...

I would take the shim to a machine shop with a lathe and see how much it would cost to have one made. Another tack would be to take measurements and see if it is a standard washer size.

In my case, I am shooting a good deal more over the last two years, since I moved to West Texas. - The reason being that the gun club is only a few miles away from here, and at my last location it was a 25 mile drive. The ammo shortage has impacted my shooting of rimfire firearms, I used to shoot a ...

The part came in today, and about an hour later I had the 1885 reassembled and waxed, ready to shoot. It went together a lot easier than I thought it would. The trigger pull is down to 2 pounds now, about right for me. That's the only difference I've noted, I expected the action to be a bit slicker ...

The little part I lost is about the size of a medium nail, and looks a lot like one. I'm starting to gather parts for a .223 bolt gun for my next project, to be used exclusively at the range. It'll be heavy. I've got the heavy barreled 223 that I have now up for sale, it's around eight pounds with t...

The new part is in the mail, should be here in a few days. - I kind of expect to old part to show up on the same day. I'll probably step on it, or something like that. I'm looking around for a powerful magnet to put on the end of a stick, that's a great idea. Tomorrow I'll take the reassembly of the...

Boinggg!

I developed an interest in improving the trigger on my Winchester (Miroku) 1885 falling-block rifle, and started doing the basic research, looking for exploded drawings, YouTube videos, and forum posts about working on these firearms. I found that this information was pretty elusive, and that only t...

I'd like to have Mr. Keith's personal model 29, the one with all of the holster wear.

I would suppose that one is definitely a shooter.

As a young man, he favored a Colt SAA in 32-20. - I didn't see it in the collection, but that's another one that I'd like to have.

We're getting freezing fog here in west Texas... Little 1/4 -1/2" spikes growing on the edges of holly leaves, and anything else with an edge. Millions of them that make trees look fuzzy and white. My motorcycle looks like it's been the victim of a fungus attack, it has little ice spikes all over it...

Swift makes scopes that are less expensive but still have good quality optics.

I had their 4x scope on my TC Contender pistol, and was very happy with it.
