Surprise Today at the Range......

Hi Folks, So I went to the range today (as I do every Sunday) with my favorite range gun. It is a S&W Model 617, 10 shot, large framed revolver. About 200 rounds into my session, I get this HUGE FLASH! Keep in mind I have put nearly 10,000 rounds through this gun in less than a year. Immediately I o...

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had a great Christmas. Just wanted to let you know I'm still around and still shooting every week, but I'm beginning to think I have no natural talent for the sport. Come to think of it, I haven't found anything I have a natural talent for.   A...

I thought one of the few benefits of getting old was you were allowed to be crotchety. :D

Am I imagining things???

Hi Folks, You must keep in mind that even though I am in the "Geezer" stage of life, I've only discovered shooting in the past year and a half. :D The latest gun I've bought is a S&W, Model 617, .22 revolver. I've had it about 4 months now and have put approximately 3,500 runs through it. It has bec...

Red Dot Sight Location?

Hi Folks, Is there any right way or wrong way to mount a red dot sight on a handgun? Here's what I've got: http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn53/TeeZed/617002.jpg As I see it, the only latitude I have (for mounting the sight) is fore and aft. Does it make any difference? Thanks in advance for you...

For someone who is concerned about improving I see a whole lot of it on those targets. Keep it up! R, Bullseye Thanks Bullseye, I'm just taking all you fine gentlemen's advice to the range with me and trying different things. :D I recently became a member of my local indoor range so now I have unli...

Hi Guys, bgreenea3, 2 handed at 10 yards. Patrick, Thanks again for the encouragement. I think another problem I have had (I've only been shooting for a little over a year) is I've bought several different guns. I have learned some are "easier" to shoot than others (your comments please :?: ...

It looks like some stance problems are causing the scatter. Are you shooting these single action or double action? take a look at the shot group analysis, it may help diagnose some problems http://www.targetshooting.ca/docs/grp-analysis.pdf Hi Greener, Any suggestions on what my stance should be ar...

Hi David,

I don't find that to be a problem. It's more of a problem of STILL having the red dot on the bullseye when the gun goes BANG!!!!

Thanks for your comment.
