I think it's a self-correcting thing. All sorts of stuff got in the way during "shooting season" last year. I've been shooting more times this month than I was all of last year. In fact, I've reloaded more ammo this week than I shot all of last year. You know you're suffering from severe withdrawal ...

Shotshell Reloading Component Sources?

Specifically Winchester AA once-fired 12 gauge hulls. I'm really enjoying getting back into shooting clay pigeons, and have burned up more ammo in the last 3 weeks than I have in the last 3 years. My stash of reloadable hulls is getting pretty thin, looking for a source for a few hundred AA's. I'm s...

Well, this whole topic has been, as we used to say in the Navy, "OBE" (Overcome by events) Horse traded my 870 Express and a couple of pictures of Ulysses S. Grant for a Remington Sportsman 58, 28" Modified. Didn't know there was such a thing. Predecessor to the 1100, in fact I thought it WAS an 110...

DOH!

You were right, the rear scope mount was loose. I mean REALLY loose. Like, Falling Off Loose.

Dunno why it didn't occur to me to check that at the range.

Don't think so, but certainly worth double-checking. Thanks for the reminder.

Hummer Bummer

Went shooting with the grandsons this weekend, and got a chance to do some semi-serious work with my Savage .17HMR. Basically calm winds, shooting from a bench, bipod, good scope, Rifle Basix trigger (Accutrigger wasn't available when I bought this one) and 4 of us couldn't keep 5 shots inside a pie...

General Idea of Prices on used 1100?

Went out shotgunning this weekend and had a ball with the grandsons. Forgot how much fun clays can be. Used my 1100/20 and had a ball (and did pretty well for an old fart...) which has rekindled my interest in swapping my 870 Express towards an 1100/12 Any idea what price range I should be looking a...

Stranger than peanut butter here in East Overshoe. 40 one day, single digits the next. 30º at 6:45am today, headed for a high of 40º. Only snowed a half dozen times, and has invariably rained and washed it all away within 48 hours. Haven't been shooting, but did take the motorcycle for a couple of s...

Hi, George. Yup, so many interests, so little time. And money... I don't think I got out to shoot more than 3 or 4 times all summer. Two major construction projects took literally every spare moment from May to November, and one of them will suck up at least another month when the weather warms up. ...

I'm still around

Just busier than a one-armed paperhanger and been focusing on a different hobby lately.

Do drop in 2-3 times a week, but haven't been moved to comment on anything.

The only Taurus I ever owned left a bad taste in my mouth, so I'm unabashedly biased on that topic. That Ruger is GORGEOUS! But then, the price is completely insane too. Wonder what the street price is on that? It'd have to get south of $600 for me to even consider it. I'm pretty old-fashioned and j...

I'm not sure I've ever gone to the range with just one gun. Or even just one caliber. If I was forced to decide on ONE handgun and ONE long gun, I'd starve to death standing in front of my safe trying to make up my mind. There are a few I could live with out, and maybe even one or two I'd sell if I ...

Gas prices have gotten me past that whole "macho vehicle" thing, but the road into my favorite shooting spot is NASTY, so I take Kermit T. Truck.

Otherwise, I'd be driving my '03 Tie-yoda Cruller.

I know this isn't helpful, but I utterly fail to see the attraction. If I'm going to spend north of $500 on a .22, it'd be a nice CZ, not a plastic wannabe. But then, I'm the sort of old fuddy-duddy that doesn't even own a semi-auto .22 of any sort. To each his own of course, just trying to understa...
