Re: Boyds Rifle Stock

You should also test the barrel clearance when the barrel is thoroughly heated after some range use to ensure that there is no contact with the stock when the barrel flexes under normal operating conditions. Metal tends to get a bit more elastic when heated that plus the stock may expand a bit too. ...

Re: 1911a1 question

I have both styles of 1911's, ones with the lowered and those with the narrower GI ejection ports in my personal collection. I have not experienced any differences in ejection operation between the two. The Mil-Spec with the slightly lowered port will qualify as an "as issued" pistol under the rules...

Re: 1911a1 question

The GI is not showing up in the current Springfield Armory catalog I only see the "Mil Spec" listed. Unless you have access to a good used GI version, your only option is the newer Mil Spec. According to the CMP Games rules the pistol qualifies for "as issued" based on the overall description with p...

Re: Fun gun

I don't find it hard to understand with eight different major manufacturers turning out M-1 carbine rifles in an all-out, 24/7, war production effort. Folks back then had a whole different national pride value system than their progeny do today. Many companies turned from producing comfort products ...

Re: CZ 75B SP01 makes me a better shooter

I concur with Blue, gripping an auto is often much different than that of the wheel guns, which one reason why I shoot far better with the autos.

Re: CT Laser Practice

I find it good practice for point shooting. With a good trigger pull you can keep them all in the center of mass with little effort. I also find it good for setting the length of my recovery time for double taps.

Re: See All sight?

I actually have one of these "See All" sights that I purchased to test the product. I mounted it up on a Mark III target pistol to perform the testing in an outdoors open air venue. The things I liked about it were: No batteries needed to operate the sighting system, light weight and easy to see opt...

Building something is typically better than buying one, unless you're short for time and need the task completed in a hurry.

Re: Neighborhood Watch

People are going a little nuts about gun-like figures, remember the pop tart or Lego ones made by some school kids? They just need to give it a break and relax a bit.
