The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) has some new Kimber target .22's at a very good price. The only catch is that you must be a member of an affiliated club.

I have a Ciener .22 conversion for my Beretta 92FS. It is reliable and is reasonably accurate for the kind of shooting I do with the Beretta. I have never needed customer service for the Ciener but have heard that it isn't very good. I shoot bullseye pistol with a 1911 and have a Marvel conversion f...

They are magazines not clips. Springs become fatigued by cycling, not by continued stress. Keeping your magazine loaded will not weaken it.

I look almost every day, but don't post unless I think I have something intelligent to add. That doesn't happen too often. Or, I might be at work and don't have time to post. Don't feel to bad if you didn't get an answer, maybe you were in an area where people didn't have a lot to say. I never talke...

I go to the Cabela's in Hamburg. The trick is to open the store and be out by ten or so. Late evening can be ok, but never decide to buy something ten minutes before closing. The check out lines can be amazing.

Two good sources for finding ranges are NRA.ORG and ODCMP.COM. ODCMP is the Civilian Marksmen Program site. You can also use Google to find clubs in your area that have web sites.

This Is The Time of Year to Join A Bullseye League

Hi Friends, If you are reading this forum, you probably like to shoot. If you enjoy target shooting with hand guns, you should give some serious consideration to joining a Bullseye Pistol League. This time of year many leagues are between sessions. If they shoot a Summer and Winter league they are j...

Well Friends, there is good news and bad news. The good news is that I bought four cases at $148.84 per case. I have fired around a brick though my Marvel Conversion and MKII. There have been no problems of any kind, and accuracy is excellent at 25yd. I'm trying to find time to test them at 50yd. wi...

Well I traded two boxes of DynaPoints for two boxes of Centurians last night, then shot three relays (90) rounds. Results were very good. No failures of any kind. Accuracy was excellent. I shot a 295, 297, and 299. One five shot string of timed fire went into a ragged hole in the X ring. The next st...

Actually it sounds like the first round is your traveller. It might be barrel temp, or, and feel free to discredit this everyone, could the bolt locking open happen fast enough to rock the pistol before the projectile leaves the barrel? I think it is more likely the first round. 1911's are known fo...

The first question is, have you ever shot that ammo with your pistols before? If not, you may want to try a box or two out before you dump the motherload on a ton of ammo that your guns may not like. Just my opinion. You are absolutely right. I am going to try to get a couple of boxes before I plac...

Aquila Standard Velocity Centurion

Hi I shoot Conventional (Bullseye) Pistol with a Marvel Conversion and Ruger MKII. I use Eley Gold Box for 2700 Matches, CCI Standard Velocity (Plastic Box) for league shooting, and DynaPoints for practice. I practice quite a bit so I'll soon be running out of DynaPoints. Ammo prices are really goin...

OSHA Out To Ruin Our Gun Sports

An insidious OSHA Proposal to place unreasonable restrictions on the sale of ammunition and components has gone relatively unobserved, and if approved, could ring the death knell of all shooting sports, much less the acquisition of small arms ammo... at any price. Please read the links from the NSSF...

Re: Tips for new owners of Ruger Mark III and Mark III 22/45

First of all, I have to express my thanks to Bullseye for the excellent job of explaining the field strip procedures of my new pistol. As a new owner of a Mark III 22/45, I have to say that it put to rest any second thoughts I had about buying one. I heard many times that is is a PITA to field stri...

Final note: Are there any non-1911 style pistols in my price range (1,300ish) that could be accurized for bullseye style competition? I never considered them because they just don't seem to have the heft that the 1911's do. I don't think I'd be able to handle the recoil on something as lightweight ...
