Finally got the carbine forearm fitted to my TC Contender. I like the way it turned out. Don't pay attention to the cheap scope I have a Burris 3-12X32 handgun scope coming for it some time this week. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/538/cT7HCy.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480...

Took her out for the first time today. Fired her from 25 yards using the Bi-Pod only. I had a few miss fires with the new barrel and figured that I would have to stone a little more off the Locking Lug, but after approx. 20 rounds she started functioning with no more problem. I probably still will t...

charlesb, Thanks for the info, I have been trying to find out more about this but have had mixed reads on it. Kind of been confusing. I have wanted to try a G2 anyway so I might just purchase one of those in 45/70 or an Encore. I do tend to try the .222 but my home range is just set up between 25 to...

My 1980 Thompson Center Contender

First I want to say I have a very Loving wife. I have bought several guns lately due to a bunch of overtime at work. I use to have a Thompson Center Contender several years ago that my father gave me and did really like it. But being a newly wed to my high school sweet heart and a new baby that came...

I can get dime size groups with it. Not satisfied as of yet, need to work with the tuner a little more. I have been shooting my Remington 540X and can get almost one hole. I love shooting that gun. I will get back to this gun soon if I quit buying other guns.
Thanks for asking

Old is a privilege give to a few only, I have had diabetes for 32 years and never think that I will make retirement age. I keep plugging along and have a great life so far without any regrets.

Yes Greener I did change the stock. The length of grip to trigger was just a little long in the other stock. Thanks for the comments gentlemen it is much appreciated. Yep bear I wish I could buy some improvements for this older body to help me shoot also. But I think the gun will come around and me ...

I believe the rifle will do what I want it is just up to me now. I do believe I will put a bench rifle stock on it tho...

Got the Barrel and Receiver back today. Much, Much better. That is what rifling should look like. Now just have to find some Subsonic ammo ( around here it is $11 a box of 50 when you can get it ) and see what accuracy I get then. It will take a couple weeks to get the Sub stuff so I will just have ...

Well got a email from the manufacture today and he stated that he did not know what I was talking about until he looked at the rifling in the barrel. He said that kind of threw him off because his tooling did not go into the barrel and he would not have caused that chattering on the rifling. He said...

bearandoldman, that rifle is a beaut. Very nice patterns also, mine is free floated due to having the rear hold down screw. I can not wait to see what it looks like and does after the Manufacturer that put the receiver and barrel together recuts and does the crown correctly. I hope it does as well a...
