Alcohol is OK for drinking if it comes from Lynchburg Tennessee.

I'll try the brake cleaner.
I did notice the reddish residue on the screw, maybe I need to clean it better and let it dry longer after I loctite it.
thanks
Hmmmph, I have cleaned the screw and hole with alcohol and put the blue locktite on it? Maybe I haven't done a good enough job. I'll try for about the forth time.
The front sight on my Mark lll Hunter keeps coming loose. It is held on with one screw, and I put locktite on it to secure it, but it seem like the residue, and recoil from shooting keep loosening it up. It won't stay tight. Besides the inconvenience, I'm concerned I will loose it one day. Anybody e...
I don't have my gun handy at the moment, but it seems that the screw could be a 1/16-1/8" longer to do the job properly. I guess I'll have to get a new one. Does anyone know the size on the allen screw, and the thread # ? I'm guessing the length is 1/4- 5/16''. By the way, the two screws appear to b...
I just finished installing the "accurizing kit" and put the allen screws in to adjust the pre and post trigger travel. The pretravel a s seems to do the job. Is it me, or is the post travel allen screw not very effective? I have it screwed in til it almost falls out on the other side before it makes...
Hi, I joined a shooting club that gets involved with everything related to guns, rifles, shotguns, etc, etc, etc...........I am looking to do some rifle target shooting at about 100-400 yards. I have a Ruger 10/22 lr with a Tasco scope (sorta cheap, but works ok) I have shot at 100 "feet". I can mak...
Hey OM, I'd take his word for it to. When I let the skunk go(veeery carefully), he ran out of the cage about 10 feet and stopped, lifted his tail(you know what that means), but just ran off w/o incident. I called the animal control department at the police station, but since I caught it myself, they...
B-eye,
I was just funning pertaining to the reason to buy the upgrade. Actually I have been considering it for a while. I just wonder if it makes a worthwhile difference in performance. In other words, is it worth the money in your opinion?

Sorry, with my bad old eyes your pic looked like the sear wasn't installed. Went to a larger monitor and can see it a bit more clearly. My eyes aren't that good either, and I had difficulty taking the right exposure pic. Yours is much better. My spring is located in the same space yours is. ty Your...
Great photo Greener, That is the location of my sear pin as well, the only difference is that when I'm reassembling my gun back together, the sear pin seems to have torque towards the frame, not the pin. Otherwise, same location, between pin and frame. As I mentioned earlier, after the first 200 rds...
I have the long leg of the sear pin inbetween the frame and the frame pin, just as it is shown in: "Detailed Internal Frame Parts Removal" picture#5 (enlarged) I have had it this way for over 1000 rounds of firing. I just took it apart again to clean, and thought I should post this thread to see if ...
