Hey guys, I guess what I was asking about is if I have a shot that's off from where I'm trying to hit is it off even more because of the longer barrel? But thinking about it from the chamber thought the barrel to the target is one line so it wouldn't matter how long or short the barrel is, aside fro...

Does size matter?

I bet this one will get a lot of hits. So my question is I have a 41 with a 7" barrel that has a red dot on top of it. The red dot sits over my hand. With my gun set up like this it is a bit nose heavy. Which is good for recoil but the dot still leaves the black on recoil. I'm wondering because of t...

First one

Got my first every 100 in a match Monday night. Indoor, 50 ft and with my 7in. S&W 41 with a U/D. It was in my timed, shot five knew they felt good so I didn't scope them. Shot the next five and felt they were good also. Checked them in the scope, nice little group in the middle. Ended up with 276. ...

I have a 7" barrel on my 41 with a dot and I wonder if I had a shorter barrel if it would cut down the spread of the "oops". Most Euro guns have short barrels.

By train as you would in real competition your saying more live firing? Seems with dry firing it will take you up to a point but when you add match pressure and recoil things start to change. I never feel different, pressure wise, between shooting a practice match and real match but my scores show d...

Couple of questions

I try and dry fire once a day, about tens minutes. I know it's good practice and I feel solid doing it but wonder how much it cares over to match shooting. It feels like a big difference in releasing a dry fire shot in my kitchen and then going to a match and releasing a shot. I guess what I'm askin...

A friend of mine while shooting slow fire will fire two and sometimes three shots in a row if he follows thought good. It sounds funny when your on the line during slow fire and someone is shooting rapid fire but he is getting some good groups. A note on holding to long. I was shooting a 900 about a...

What about this setup?

Brought home a used S&W 41 the other day. Doesn't look like it had many rounds throught it, but it's not an older gun. I'm using it for indoors at 50' and it has the 7" barrel. I like the feel and balance of the gun now but need a red dot. I took my UD from the Ruger and put it on the 41, but think ...

I ended up cutting an inch off the front of my bull barrel. Balances better in my hand with the dot, not so nose heavy and lightens up total weight also. I think if a gun balances good in your hand it will stay on target better or easier. Not talking about recoil here because it will jump a little m...

I know I'm a couple of days behind on this one but you could take a file to the openning at the top of the rings, after you took them apart. Shouldn't need more than a couple of passes on each side.

I went to a match last night and was way off my game. I shot a 236 which is 30 points lower than the last couple of matches. Can't blame it on just one thing, the lighting was different, I want a new gun, it was a long drive, I was watching out of the corner of my eye my teammate. He was having trou...

Balance

Have a question for you BE shooters. How important do you think the balance of a gun in your hand is. Let me give you some background. My gun is nose heavy and know that would be a plus for recoil but this is a 22. Also being nose heavy it might help steady the gun but maybe because it's nose heavy ...
