Re: brass catchers

I have used the material from a nylon mesh laundry bag for brass catchers. You can find these bags at places like Lowes Hardware for under $2.

Re: AR-15 Rifling Question

Listing other websites in posts to assist our members is not discouraged here, the main thing is to help a fellow member in need. I know that there are other websites frown upon the practice but this forum is all about helping fellow shooters. I am glad you found info that helps with your question. ...

Re: 1911 grip screws

I use the 'Red' medium strength locktite to secure the bushings tightly into the frame. The key is to let the sealant fully cure and not let any of t...

Good to know. Handling brake fluid requires some special care and precautions, it can cause harm to surfaces that you do not intend to clean as you have indicated in your post.

The only thing that changes when you retire is the venue where the socialization takes place. I see plenty of retired folks meeting at fast food restaurants in the morning hours to sit and "chew the fat".

Re: My New Shop

There is a nice write-up about purchasing suppressors in this month's American Rifleman magazine including forms and how to submit the paperwork for the stamp. Here's an online link~ http://www.americanrifleman.org/article ... uppressor/

The one caveat is they must be used in "instant on" fixtures, but they are direct replacements for the old florescent tubes and use the available 115v power without the need for any rewiring inside the fixtur...

Re: My New Shop

Sorry to hear of your loss. I recall you went to live with your Dad when he fell into poor health a few years back. Inheriting property can be a bit of a hassle. Looks like you've made the most of it. You'll probably end up tweaking the shop space for the rest of your time owning that property. If y...

I haven't done anything with 'Ratchet' rifling so I cannot provide an informed opinion on your question.
