Shoot them the same, timed and rapid. If there is any difference at all let it be in your head as There is plenty of time for rapid if I do it right. There is more than plenty time for timed if I do it right. In rapid, two-three times, I have had an alibi in the alibi string with 208s. (hammer sprin...

I can state much experience with High Standard Comps. They hurt precision accuracy. They might help functional accuracy with a little less muzzle jump in rapid. But trigger control, and a good grip, weight and balance setup will go much farther for you. The 6"+ slab side or bull barrel MkII pistols ...

Run them wet...

Today I broke out my iron sight gun. A long taper target barrel MkII. It's been on the shelf for over a year. It stovepiped regularly until I oiled up the bolt and recoil spring. I have a Volq extractor in it and have rounded the release corners of the magazine. Oil was missing at first. Then it ran...

I have 3 AA units and 1 Marvel Precision unit. Forget the Kimber as a target unit if that is your intent. Advantage Arms units are very good. For now the slide stop insert is working fine. I did have one stop insert come off from loose screws. AA took care of that immediately. Feeding is perfect and...

I am 6 months after rt shoulder surgery. I am shooting again. Not too badly, but endurance is very frustrating. One problem is relearning grips. They just don't all feel like they used to.

I have a club range 35-40 minutes drive from me. Nice 50 and 25 yard targets with turning equipment. Up to 30 points. About 5 have broken butts. Sadly the club has gotten away from regular bullseye. There are only about 3 of us regulars. In fact I can only think of 4 Pistol Distinguished in the area...

It is fairly common gospel that 22 target pistols do not need bore cleaning. My experience in the 70s was cleaning my HS 106 STr bullseye gun and it would take about 20 shots to settle back into 50 yard accuracy. Today i seldom clean the 22 pistol bores. Chamber, breech, mags, and lockwork does need...
