As near as I can find, Bangor Punta bid to buy Smith & Wesson in Oct, 1965. They were a holding company and ownes several busisnesses mostly in watercraft, RV type trailers, and airplanes (Piper) besides S & W. They were in turn bought out by Lear... in Dec. 1984 And by 1984 Bangor Punta no longer e...

Most hardware stores have a "copper wool" product. Pretty much the same as steel wool, only made from copper. I've used it before, and it works well. I've used it for copper fouling in extreme cases, as it is softer than the steel of the barrels/receivers.

I've been using a Thumbler's vibrator, crushed walnut hull, and Dillon's Rapid Polish 290 for many years with great results. I get both walnut hull and corncob media from pet stores as it's much cheaper that way. I don't use a lot of corncob, but occasionally I will run it after the treated walnut h...

Today was also a good day. Met some new folks, interesting conversations, saw some lots of different equipment. Also, it was much cooler today, Yesterday was in the 90s, today hi 60s to low 70s, and cloudy. Recruited a new club member, and learned some new things. Good time. Why not y'all come to ou...

Good Day at the Range.

Today, and tomorrow, our club holds an "open" 2 days for the general public to sight in their hunting rifles, and to just get to know us. Since most of the active members were otherwise occupied this weekend, I pretty much am left with being the "Club guy" all day for the two days. Anyway, I got to ...

Good thread. I check in here pretty often, but don't really post much. That is just me. Seems to be a great group of folks here. I agree about some of the other forums, most of which I rarely, if ever go to due to the issues already mentioned here. Keep up the good work folks. Thanks for a good forum.

BAOM, Congratulations on the Great Grand thing. You have a few years on me, but my kids and grandkids must have sort of rushed things along, I have 3 Great-Grands, the oldest is 3 years. That is the only way I'm ever going to be 'great' anything. But I'm still a pup at 66 years, so who knows what is...

My next test will be to load mag cases with a light charge of Trailboss and cast bullets. Then a light charge of Trailboss and jacketed bullets for comparison. Unfortunately, I (accidently) left all my magnum cases behind with my son. I guess I'll have to buy a box and pull the bullets in a few for...

Good looking rifle there. As usual, us "lefty" shooters prove more adaptable than others.  I've often bought pre-owned guns (usually due to budget) and especially enjoy bringing back an abused one to the best level possible. The last being the Rem. 581 with a left hand bolt. My only o...
