Tri-Mag

Love the lil 10 round rotary mags. HATE the tri-mag idea.

1) to keep dirt.mud.etc,etc,etc, out of the exposed mags, you would have to put a protective cover on them.

2) If you did 1) above, you just gave up your quick load advantage.

Just get a 25,30, or 50 round banana or drum.

Problem solved.

Nice

I thoroughly enjoy the 17 and would pick up a 17L in a heartbeat (if I could ever find one).

You could also try Numrich Gun Parts.... They list the front sight w/red insert (Redhawk) for $13.25 and they ship as fast as Ruger. http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/Products.aspx?catid=8352 I love Numrich ;-) BTW... Just checked again and saw the parts probably do not interchange (as stated abov...

Cap and Ball

I have only fired a black powder revolver once (six times actually).

The owner 'forgot' to grease the cylinders and I got the thrill of sympathetic firing of all 6 cylinders with one pull of the trigger.

Not likely to forget that anytime soon and it happened way back in the '60s.

Loose Fit

I wish I had this problem! I still have to bonk off the barreled receivers from both of my mkIIIs, and they've been down and together more times than I can fathom. A note to the casual reader: Don't panic if you have a bit of slop, the sights are mounted to the barrel rather firmly. other folks say...

Cleaning

Many years ago I used to dunk a Standard model in a bucket of degreaser and then use a commercial air hose to 'blow it all out'. I would then dunk it in a bucket of old motor oil and repeat the blowout. Only thing I did was remove the upper and the grips. I was very lucky I never lost any springs or...

22

Nothing wrong with a .22 for a BUG. Tons wrong with it as a primary carry (but to each his/her own).

While a .22 is far superior to bare hands, I heartily recommend a .45 as primary carry, a 9mm as secondary, and a .380 or .22 as deep BUG.

Just my opinion, others may (and usually do) vary.

39A

I bought one years ago and found I could not even see the front sight until I removed the hood. With it removed, I absolutely LOVE the lil lever gun ;-) It is one of the most accurate 22s I own, but still prefer the 10/22 for almost everything I do. No scope for me either... these tired, old eyes ju...

Gun Listing

Nice site ruger22. I remember when eBay allowed you to buy and sell guns and it was a great source. Now that they have decided to be politically correct and stop all transactions that they have determined to be detrimental to the survival of mankind as we know it today, it is nice to see a website t...

New AZ law

The new law (that should never have to be a law in ANY State) has a few quirks to it though.

1) CCW is still required for entering alcohol serving facilities.

2) CCW is still required for traveling to other states that maintain reciprocity.
