Re: S&W Victory .22
I still like the Ruger better. Having said that, I've been tempted by the Browning Buckmark pistols lately. I have a Challenger and Buckmark Standard. Both shoot well. The standard is very accurate. I like them. Problem areas: The sight base screws come loose regularly if you don't use blue loctite...

The Dark Side
I fired bgreene's Glock 43 last week and liked it. I have an LC9 which is about the same size that I don't really like. Saturday I bought a Glock 43. Yesterday I took it to the range and right off the bat, it decided it didn't like my reloaded 115gr rn reloads. Wanted to jam, not extractand other pr...

S&W Victory .22
I saw an S&W Victory at the grand opening of the new Cabela's in Richmond. My gun counter test fire was positive. Finish looked good. I liked the fire sights. Pretty good balance. Trigger seemed crisp. I liked the feel of the grips. Balance was good. Cabela's price was $399, just below list. It's pr...

Re: Scarred 1911 from Battle Of The Bulge
A good story for a real collectors piece. But... The gouges in the slide look fresh for something picked up 71 years earlier than the picture. They just seemed awfully bright. It could be the care taken over the years. The pistol has no more provenance than the tag in the story. The story doesn't sa...

Never heard of it, so I looked it up. This review somewhat liked it http://www.gunsandammo.com/first-look/f ... 911-380-2/

Re: Given up on the LC380
My problems with the LC9 took two trips to Ruger. The first time they fired about 25 rounds and said fixed. The second time they fired two boxes and sent me the end tabs of the ammo boxes. My problem was brass shavings getting into the firing pin channel and blocking it. Your solution is more elegan...

Re: M41?
Yeah, that was one of the negatives. The used ones I've seen have been in the $900-$1200 range for the past few years.ruger22 wrote:I looked it up. $1199 is definitely proud. I don't know much about 41s, but there are other grips for them if you had any green left after buying it.

M41?
I was out wandering around Wednesday. Greentop had a used M41. The pistol looked very clean and like it hadn't been fired much. 7" barrel. The target grips had the thumb rest ridge on the left handgrip. The right grip had a ridge for separating the index finger, I suppose. That grip ridge ended up c...

Re: Williams Fire Sights, almost
It seems I'm drifting into retirement more slowly than I thought. Still answering questions and writing a bit of VBA code to fix a transfer. At least I can do it from home. The boss retired. We've had very little time in almost 40 years that both of us have been home at the same time other than vaca...

Re: Kimber revolver
A match grade trigger for improved accuracy in a gun whose use is 10' ?
Nice looking in the picture and I bet KIimber will make a pretty good revolver. I don't see anything that would make me want to go away from my 442.

I got through this one and was wondering what kept you from shooting .357 down to the .22 barrel until the name's John Galt and Benny Hill sunk in. Great find.

Re: Williams Fire Sights, almost
It was amazing how quickly I went from retirement to back to work full time. I'm down to one thing I said I was going to do, then I'm back to retirement.

SR22 Rear Sights
My SR22 was shooting about 6" right at `15 yards Saturday. The rear sight left adjustment moved it only 2-3". I drifted the rear sight mount today. There is no set screw to hold the sight and mine was not very tight in the dovetail. It didn't take much to move it. Doesn't look like it would take muc...

Re: Williams Fire Sights, almost
I didn't realize how long ago I put the Fire Sights in. For the last 4 months my retirement entertainment has been going back to me old job for 50 or so hours per week. I took advantage of a 70+ day yesterday and went to the range. It was one of those days that my eyes just didn't want to work until...

Re: CZ 75B SP01 makes me a better shooter
He told me that he switched to shooting it left-handed and the point of impact moved to target center. So, I suppose that makes him a natural two handed shooter: revolvers in the right and and semi-auto's in the left.
