Re: Bolt Action 22

You have a point there about the Model 60's trigger they are not ideal. I have had success in making some of them crisper, but it is not a pleasant task of taking one down to work the trigger.

Re: The new Ruger Mark IV Target and Hunter

The barrel is still the receiver on the Mark IV and that makes having multiple barrels impractical from a serial number perspective.

Re: Bolt Action 22

I have found that the Model 60's "micro-grooved" barrel shoots all varieties of .22 ammo very accurately, even Remington Thunderbolts. Some brands don't cycle well but they all seem to hit the mark. I would expect the bolt version to perform in the same manner.

Re: The new Ruger Mark IV Target and Hunter

You didn't miss anything. It was officially released on Sept. 23rd, although a few of the blog writers and gun magazines got an early chance to review them. I don't generally comment until I've had a good chance to inspect a new model. Some of the new features look interesting but the MSRP is a bit ...

Re: New Stock for Model 70

I have a pre-64 .308 Palma gun with a wooden stock. It's a match gun and not for slogging around in the field so the wooden stock is great for the range. I do like the look of a nice checkered wood stock.

I check the forum every day or so. Hasn't been too many posts lately but I do get a lot of false registrations on a daily basis.

Re: Ruger mk1 question

The big difference between the Mark I and the Standard models are the adjustable vs. fixed sights. The barrel profiles of these pistols are shaped accordingly to accommodate the sighting system of each model. Other than that they pretty much function the same.

Re: Kicking my b---

The first thing to check is to ensure the hammer strut is staying on the mainspring cap when the MS housing is closed and latched. If it is not then what can happen when you close the mainspring housing is the strut slips of the MS cap and is pinched against the magazine body, which may be what is c...

Re: Another "assault rifle" shooting

The rifle is one aspect of the discussion some are having in an attempt to distract most people away from the more prime motives for this shooting. Others are focused upon the fundamental beliefs of the individual who caused the tragedy. The initial information is generally wrong in many ways but ov...

I am definitely well and I hope everyone else is too! I haven't lost interest in this forum, I'm just very busy, which prevents me from spending much time on the computer or any other non-business related activities for that matter. I created this forum for like-minded folks to communicate with each...

Re: The Dark Side

Factory Glock barrels come with the polygonal rifling and do not recommend use of any reloaded ammunition in them. Aftermarket barrels made for Glocks with traditional rifling can handle reloads. I find field stripping a fairly easy task, but activating the slide lock (takedown bar) can be a bit of ...

Re: Brought Low by Loose Scope Mounts

It is frustrating when a mount comes loose. The groups open up and typically that is the last thing checked as the cause. I'm glad that you found it and hopefully your problem was solved.

Re: S&W Victory .22

I looked over one good and It seemed well put together. I'm not sure about the filament sights as they are not really useful to me, others opinions may vary. $399 was the retail price over the counter on the stainless model I had a chance to examine. Beyond that I really cannot say as I did not get ...
