That's good news! Hopefully here where I live similar rulings will be made. Here it is actually illegal to carry a lock-blade pocket knife... Come on...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, I think the reason stun guns, strict laws on mace, tear gas etc, and other types of weapons are deemed illegal is the idea that the freedoms they bring would be abused by people. The idea of being able to subdue a victim without killing them(using a gun) would give opportunity for people to use them in an unlawful situation. In other words, some people, even law abiding folks, would abuse the freedom without the fear, or attention, of using a gun to perform the task. This, I presume, is the reason you can only carry 2 oz of spray in regulated potentcy.
I'm not saying I agree with this, it's just the reasons,
