Ammo stash fever?

Post by ruger22 » Wed Jul 25, 2012 11:28 am

Since I got my LCR, I have one problem that I had with .22s. Every time I pass ammo in a LGS, I get the urge to grab a box (or two, or three) of .38s.

I stopped my .22 addiction by buying five GI ammo cans as my "limit". This was during the "Great Ammo Shortage". I never realized how much they would hold, even in factory boxes......

I've been reducing my .22 stash this year. Most of it is $14.87 Wally World Federal packs. The good old days.

As my limit for the LCR, I got some of Plano's small ammo boxes, one 100 round and five 50 round. That holds 50 of my carry ammo, and 300 for the range. That should be a decent supply.

Nothing wrong with stocking up on.more than that when there's a good deal to be had.....

Like with everything else these days, it will be cheaper now than from a year from now. But you can go over board but you can never have too much ammo.

I'm not going to tell you how to run your ammo budget ... but we all lived through the panic/shortage 3-4 years back.

I, for one, will not be caught without a reserve again.

I'm reloading .380 because of the shortage and living off primers I hoarded. Guess it's time to start replenishing the primers.
