Anybody get these on their aluminum S&W frames? An impression of the ejector star around the lock pin hole? Recoil kicks the cylinder into the frame, apparently.
My new, unfired by me, LCR-22 has this, from just the factory test fire. I've emailed Ruger CS, but won't hear back until Monday or so.
There is a stainless steel bushing around the lock pin hole, but it's a few thousandths below the aluminum. I'm thinking the star just indents the aluminum enough to contact that bushing.
Some gun group posters say it's normal, others got a replacement gun from Ruger. It doesn't look right to me, but I've never had an aluminum revolver. I don't know whether to shoot it Sunday, or wait for Ruger's reply.

I'm on my wife's tablet, touch screen keyboard is awkward!!
The marks are an exact impression of the ejector star, gouged into the aluminum. Deep enough to catch a fingernail, from just the factory test fire. I think the cylinder is able to move back on the crane too far. I can imagine what another 100 rounds would do to it.
I can try to post a link to photos I put on rugerforum.net, tomorrow!

I've called Ruger this AM, sent them the photos, rep is pretty sure they'll replace it, but will call back with official word shortly.
