I hope you have someone standing by with a defibrillator, just in case!

That was one of my thoughts, that's quite a jolt to the upper chest area. What would make it worse, I think, would be to not have it butted up tightly to the shoulder. I wonder what one of those guns cost?

Nice. I hope who ever designed that thing put some beefy lugs on the bolt.

I may be a lightweight - but I'd have a bag of shot between the gun and my shoulder, if I were going to fire something like that.

I started to say a sandbag - but I had second thoughts and decided that shot would be much better.

My first rifle was a Marlin1895, a 45-70 with a straight-grip and hard-plastic butt-plate. - I learned a lot about recoil with that gun, and developed a classic flinch that I had to overcome with it... Since then I've not had another flinching problem.

The gun in the video would have me flinching all over again.

I don't think anybody would get on your case for flinching with this rifle. I too have shot a 45-70 and that is a brute as well. One other gun that I have shot, a S&W 500mag, was a monster as well. That is a handgun on steroids, as it dwarfs my S&W 357 making it look like a toy. The recoil on this one not only produces massive muzzle flip, but also recoil backwards into your shoulder.

You got to know something's up when a whole bunch of people are just standing around just waiting to see you shoot something like that rifle.

The largest caliber I have ever shot was the 458 w/510gr bullet, I'd only weighed 130lbs back then. Once was enough so I'd pass on that one. I know for sure my bad back would not like it.

I think I'll be satisfied with riding the carriage of a 23-ton SP 8" firing Zone 3 Nuke or Charge 7 white bag. The front road wheels go a couple of feet of the ground. It made a big bang but was less painful than that thing looks.

That is absolutely insane. Almost knocked that last guy out of his chair. My favorite was the big guy looking all macho til it jumped plum out of his hands when he fired it. I picked up a H&R handi rifle in 500 S&W last year to deer hunt with until I shot it a couple of times then I promptly sold it. That thing was a brute & I decided my .44 mag was more than big enough.
