Senior citizens and handguns

Post by Old_Dog » Thu May 02, 2013 12:07 am

I started a new blog/website that caters to senior citizens who own guns. We have unique problems due to medical issues and age that require we approach things differently than you young bucks. If interested please visit. It is free and no registration required. No ads too. Your first comment posted will be held for approval and once it is approved, all future posts from the same name and email address will post immediately.

Oldman could school most all the young folk about the elderly and guns......

Too old to run, too old to fight, too old to survive a serious butt kicking, as a result all attackers can expect to leave the area in a body bag?
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

I like it, OD. You did a nice job. I never thought about stuff like opting for pocket carry due to hip issues.

At this posting, I am in my 20s; I hope that I am fortunate enough to make it to an age where I must consider these things.

I'd use the Nike defense, but they could have lunch while I made the first 100 yards.

I never thought about stuff like opting for pocket carry due to hip issues.
I wonder how many people forgo carrying at certain times due
to the size and weight of their carry weapon? I suspect it's a considerable number
of times and situations. Nothing like the 'stopping power', allure, and simpleness
of a full sized 1911, and similar models, but I would never carry one
due to their size/weight factor. Maybe I'd put one in the console of my car but it's
unlikely I would strap one on my hip. With the 'effectiveness' of today's the self
defense ammo, you can accomplish a lot with a 9mm, 38sp+p pocket gun.
I will say this, though, having a 1911 on the end table next to me in the evening sure
makes me feel good!
