Long eye relief scope for scout rifle

Post by 99/100 » Tue Feb 24, 2015 8:55 pm

I have a M94 Swede that was chopped when imported in 68 (the damage was already done) . I've put a boyds stock on it and had it recrowned but I am half as old as the rifle and need a little "optical" help. I plan to get an S & K mount but I don't want to hang a piece of glass on it that is worth 2x the rifle. I don't particularly trust the chinese optics (some of their reviews seem to be copied and pasted) and so I thought I'd throw the question out here. I need at least 8" of relief so the Bushnell "Dawn to Dusk" is out at 6". Thanks in advance!

Nikon EEL scopes have the most followed with Leopold. Or you could use a dot sight which is unlimited. Ultradot makes one that has a small moa that reasonable. I have a cheap Simmons on one of my rifles for several years now and it's been pretty good. The eye relief is not what you need though. Any scope for a pistol should have longer eye relief.

Swift makes scopes that are less expensive but still have good quality optics.

I had their 4x scope on my TC Contender pistol, and was very happy with it.

Their Reliant series is more in the range I was thinking. Thanks, I'll give them a good look
