Remington Target

Post by keithj » Sun Nov 22, 2009 3:29 am

Has anyone shot any of the Remington Target ammo ? Ive heard that it's not very consistent quality wise and has quite a few failure to fire problems. My candy store is out of the CCI standard that Ilike so well for bullseye shooting so I'm forced to get whats availible ............

Thx in advance
Keith

While Remington Target ammo works well in some shooting platforms it tends to lead the barrel in Ruger 22 automatic pistols. It has gotten to the point for me that I just avoid Remington .22 rimfire ammo altogether. If you can't get CCI the Aguila SV is a pretty good substitute.

I've had nothing but problems with Remington .22 ammo for the past year or 2. Lots of fail to fire with repeated firing pin strikes, etc. and excess leading of the barrel of several guns. Also, a fair amount of 'weak' sounding shots (ie: not as loud as the others). Surprisingly, a brick of 'Peters' HV has had no such problems. Go figure.
Anyway, I still fall back on Federal bulk for most of my shooting. It always works, and accuracy is good.

Remington's QC, where ammunition is concerned, has gone in the dumpster.

The Rem Target I tried was made by Eli, it shot very good. But at $10/box it's a little pricey for me.
