Ruger Mark I Disassembly

Post by cadillo » Mon Jul 16, 2012 3:11 pm

I am helping a friend to disassemble, clean and lube his newly acquired MarK I, and I cannot figure out how to remove the trigger pivot pin. It does not have a spring bearing on the pin as do the Mark II and III, and the pin seems to be solidly locked in place, but I can't see what is holding it.

I'd appreciate any guidance!

Disregard. I figured it out with a little help from Brownell's website.

The Mark I series pistols have a little "E" clip on the left side of the trigger holding (locking) the trigger pivot pin in place. You have to take care to replace the clip with some care or it will slip off of the pin and go down underneath the trigger. Later I'm going to add a section just for the Mark I style pistol. Too many folks have been asking questions regarding that model that make investing the time to create the instruction page worthwhile.
