Browning 1911-22
I went to local gun shop this past weekend and fell in love with the Browning 85% 1911-22 compact model. It comes in a 3 3/4' and a 5 1/2' barrel. It's aluminium, with a stainless barrel. Anyone have one or have opinions, I would love to hear them before I plunk down the rather hefty $595 price tag. TJ
If I had the green, and wanted another semi-auto, that would likely be my choice. I don't mind it being "downsized" to the caliber, and would prefer Browning quality over the GSG/Sig or Chiappa models.
If you think $595 is pricey, try the Beretta 87, another .22 on my dream list. I just looked, they have apparently dropped the standard 87, only list the 87 Target (oh, well; there went that dream) for $880.

I hear you, 22. I was looking at the mod. 87 and almost lost my lunch. It is all steel and had nice grips, but jeez, talk about sticker shock. I've got my heart set on the Browning Compact model. I won't be using it for target shooting as I have a MKII target in SS that fits that bill. Oh, and I wouldn't even consider a Chiappas!! Have you seen that bottom barrel revolver of theirs? Talk about UGLY! TJ
