22/45 parts

Post by jerryv » Sat Aug 14, 2010 6:17 pm

hello all. newbe here.
i have been reading here for a while and got interested in the 22/45 so this weekend my dealer had a ruger promotion sale and i bought a new 22/45 for $219 + tax.
after putting 50 rounds through it with no problem
i did the mag release mod and it made a real difference in the trigger. now i think i need a clark ck517 bushing and a vq vc2ts sear. is this correct and is there one place where i can get both items?
thanks jerry

Most order the Clark MKII Bushing direct. The sear can be got from several sources. But I do not know a source where you can get both unless Brownell's have them.

Welcome to Guntalk-online Jerry!

You've got the right part numbers for you 22/45. Like Blue said unless Brownells has them in stock you'll likely need to order them separately. Rimfire Sports and Custom has the VQ parts and free shipping anywhere in the Continental US.

thanks guys

I'll order the bushing from Clark and the sear from Rimfire Sports when they get the sear in stock.
I also want to try a scope, I think one with magnification and red dot might help but there is so many and I dont know enough about them yet to choose.
I'll only use it for plinking so should it be a $32 red dot from Walmart or $60 truglow from Dick's or $149 - $199 ultradot? 5moa or smaller? thanks again jerry

Since you're not sure how much you'd like to shoot with a dot scope I'd go with the $39 TruGlow at Dick's if that's close to you. The Walmart one is a BSA for $30 it's not bad for a beginning scope. Neither are magnified dot scopes.
