Inserts for 12 ga. Shotgun

I have a New England Firearms Survivor Model SB1 12 Ga 3" Mod. shotgun with a 22 " barrel. It is a good "truck" gun. I have read about and have found a source for shotgun inserts that enables one to fire different kinds of
rounds in a shotgun via the inserts. I have read about one inserts in a 45-70 gov. that is 18" long. This would make this survivor model shotgun more versatile. It is also available in other calibers many of which are handgun rounds like the 38 special.
How well do these inserts work?
Are they safe?
Does anyone have any experience with them?
I would like to know a bit more before I spend the money for the insert.

the only hting i knowof are called sub gage tubes for 20, 28 o3 .410 shotshells they are normally sold in pairs for over/under shotguns.They most likely would cost mor than the gun is worth. If I recall these sub gage tubes made by Briley sell for around 450 dollars per pair.

There is a company and I have looked at their website that makes inserts in
different types that list for about $106.00 including shipping for the 18" model in a 45-70 gov.
The price is right but would the product work?

I have used the Briley Companion tube to shoot 28 age in my 12 gage o/u shotgun and hey worked fine. No reason the .45-70 will not work as it not a really high pressure cartridge. The only ones I have ever known ofwere sub gage shotgun tubes, pos the website so we can have a look.
