The war started over confiscation of powder, ball, and muskets when the British attempted to capture the storage houses by marching in force to Lexington and Concord, Mass.

No, seems accurate to me. April 19, 1775 is the actual date when the British made their move to confiscate the Colonials weaponry and the chart does use 1775 as that date. The British also wanted to ban rifled barrels, like in the Kentucky Long Rifle, because that prevented soldiers from marching en-masse onto the battlefield and engaging each other at close ranges. Smooth bore muskets were highly inaccurate but could be reloaded more quickly to deliver a higher rate of fire. Those rifled cowards could deliver accurate fire from distances of 300-400 yards away and target specific troops, like officers, who were deemed necessary to keep order on the battlefield.
