Ruger .44 Carbine at LGS today

Post by ruger22 » Sat Apr 02, 2011 8:01 pm

Dropped off my black Bobcat for consignment at LGS and they had a nice .44 Carbine on the rack. Everything looked about 90%, $699. If I were into centerfires these days and had more green, it would have went home with me. Nice solid looking rifle.

That must have been one great condition carbine for $700. I've seen them go for less. Currently there's one for sale on Rugerforum.com for $425 that needs a little TLC.

I guess you can charge whatever you want since they don't make them any more.... I think it is a neat gun.

A little Super Blue and stock wax would have had this one nice. A little blue wear and a few light scratches on stock. Forward angled scope mounts, military sling, and a cordura leather trim case. Maybe a little high, but was well cared for. It was on consignment.

Asking for and actually receiving are too different animals though.

I got to fire a few rounds through a Ruger 44 carbine some years ago, that belonged to a relative. It was more accurate than I expected, and was pleasant to shoot.

I always wanted one after that, but I haven't gotten around to it, yet.
