T/C Venture

Post by charlesb » Sun Feb 07, 2016 8:19 pm

I got to look at a T/C Venture the other day. I have seen them online before, but as usual the images online don't tell you much.

It was an older rifle in 22-250 that had seen some hard use. I was impressed with the action, it looked good and the fat bolt with three lugs was very smooth with no wobble to speak of at all. It had a synthetic stock which had held up well and had none of the flexibility that low-end synthetic stocks are known for. It was solid and substantial, with rubbery grip panels where a wooden stock might have checkering.

Impressed with the Venture, I'm now considering the T/C ICON, which as far as I can tell is a Venture with a very nice walnut stock and highly polished metal. They are nice looking, but cost almost twice as much as the Venture.

The T/C bolt guns have 5-R rifling and have a good reputation for accuracy. I didn't get a chance to shoot the Venture that I was looking at.

Can anyone tell me more about these guns?
