The .270 will do the job in spades!!! Now without getting into a heated debate over the Ford or Chevy issue, I will say that the .270 I have used to take mule deer, whitetail deer, pronghorn antelope and yes it will certainly handle any big hog you might want to kill.

I used a 120 and 130 grain bullet on speed goats, I would then bump it up a notch to the 150 grain bullet on big mulies or whitetail bucks. Now for elk hunting I used a Nosler Partiton in a 160 grain bullet and it will get the job done if you stay off that shoulder.
