Good, bears like fast food! Unless that cat is a mountain lion it won't be much of a match for the bear. BTW those bears are real good climbers so kitty won't be able to escape by rushing up the nearest tree.

That paw must be attached to bear-zilla! Black bears don't get quite that big and as bears go they're on the tamer side. But they're still a bear and can get quite temperamental at times.

Looked up some old e mails. this bearzillla was shot by a guy walking his dogs near Soldotana in the Kenai of AK. He measured in at 9 foot 6 inches and he was brought down with a Ruger short barrel revolver in .454 Casull. He emptied y=the gun into him a fell over getting out of his path as he skidded to a stop 10 feet past where he was standing. A change od underwear may have been required?

All the bear stories in Alaska are for tourist consumption. I spent a week up there in 2010 and didn't see a bear or a moose. There was a report when I was up there about shooting a bear that spilled beer in a pizza parlor, so I was real careful about spilling beer.

There were a lot of black bears in Grayling, MI. They just loved GI garbage pits and field mess halls. I had a lieutenant that got nose to nose with a black bear in a latrine at about 3AM. She didn't have any trouble staying awake the rest of the night. I don't recall seeing one in the SE part of the state (Kalamazoo).

This one is the third siting in Richmond since I've been here. The pic looks like a young bear. I'm pretty sure he would leave if you made a lot of noise. I loaded a couple hundred rounds of .45 Colt this morning. The way I shot today, if I used the Ruger, I'd be making a lot of noise to scare him away. I don't think he would be in a lot of danger from the bullets.

Well, I have learned a lot already this morning.

Don't spill beer in a pizza joint in Alaska.

Don't hang around garbage pit and latrines at Camp Grayling. I used to fish up in that country and I know there are bears up there.

But for damn sure never take directions or follow the Big Greener, you could head for Florida and end up in Oregon,

I know there's humor in there somewhere about artillery and a poor sense of direction. I guess he's just using the cardinal headings in a relative way.

50 cal is a small gun to the big Greener, he thinks small is a 105mm. I have seen him shoot and he always faces the target and usually hits it also. He has found his way to the little Greener's house and come up and shot with me a few time and he even found his way back home. Directions are relative, as long as long as you get to where you want and get back, that I the important part,
