good dogs.....

Dogs are incredible creatures. When my Australian Terrier died, I cried my eyes out. He pretty much pulled me out of despair when I couldn't go on any more due to medical issues. I think it's the unconditional love they give that has the power to change people. It takes a lot out of a person when you have to put them away, while they are in your arms, that causes me not to get another, it just hurts too much.

I posted on the first page about my Westie, Barney, being ill. We lost him last night, his heart didn't go as long as hoped. Went peacefully in his sleep, at least.
I'll have him at our local pet cremation place later. They provided for our other Westie, Andy, passing last year. Great place, they've been doing funeral service for people since the 1860s; started doing pets about five years ago.
He looked like Mozey, just a bit more scruffy. He hadn't been to a groomer for a while.
I'm sure if he meets Bear, they'd be great play buddies.

thanks everyone for your thoughts, I really appreciate it. Bear has been slowing down over the last year a lot, missed jumping up to his favorite spot on the couch by the window, because his hind legs would not let him. He still laid by the low window with his chin on the window sill. He did not want to eat dog food and was losing weight but he got all the cookies he wanted. Tough little guy as he never whine or whimpered with pain. I could not get him back up the stairs into the house but managed to help him into the yard shed and cover him with rug, and we just sat there until my friend got over and we put him in the car and went to the vet. I love that dog and I still do.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Thanks for the reposting of Bear, that is my favorite photo you've shared. He looks so sweet and relaxed.
