Not sure how it happened but the receiver was full if cattail seeds. .. all fluffy. Of all things it is a 16 ga. .......

I would rather leave the patina on it but the owner took a wire wheel to the barrel about 15 years ago so it's going to get a nice blued finish all over.....or at least I'm going to try.

They really used nice lumber back in the day even on the economy type shotguns like the iver johnson champion and the Harrington and richardson I'm working on.....

Only a few more coats to go.....

Thanks... I'm working on two. The old H & R 16 gage and an iver johnson 12...

Both of them had bad firing pin return springs. So along with making them purty they will be mu h more safe.

Mostly I stripped and refinished the stock and foreend.... I did a complete tear down and cleaning too...

Good Job.
One of my favorite things is to clean up, restore and "old ugly" and make it presentable and useful again.
Several in my safe are such items.
In fact for the most part, I'd rather bring back an old one like that than buy a new one.
