Blue, just want to say thank you. With Bullseye's pictures and your instructions I got it all assembled and the bolt went effortlessly into the gun. Thanks for helping out a newbie!

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have seen this photo and it doesn't quite answer my questions. What does the rebound spring hook onto? It doesn't just lay under the firing pin does it? Also, how far up does the rebound support go? I know that the spring hooks onto the support, but it must hook onto some...

MKIII bolt reassembly help needed!

Well, I had the post a short way down entitled "Lost rebound spring". Ruger sent me a new spring, rebound support and firing pin. On inspection, my old firing pin had a huge gouge on the top of it. Maybe that's why my Ruger has been shooting strangely. My current problem is this: I used the bolt ass...

I think you're right. I took Dave's idea to vacuum the area where I was working and then used my magnets to go thru the bag. 2 paperclips and a little dirt! Can't say I didn't try!

Thanks for the ideas everyone! I live in a very small apartment and am disabled, so it's kind of hard to find a big space to work. I try to use the kitchen table since I don't use it for meals. I usually use a remington mat, but for some reason I didn't this past weekend. So I'm waiting for Brownell...

This is good advice. As soon as I get the ones I ordered, I am going to order some extras and make my own "parts bag". Any other things that tend to escape? This was the first time I have taken the Ruger down this far. I did it because I am experiencing a very hight number of failure to fire. Yet, w...

Ruger is out of stock according to their online store. Brownells has one for the MKI and MKII. Will it fit? Thanks Bullseye. I will try looking for it again with a magnet, but if you could answer my question here I would be very appreciative. Thanks Cheryl

Lost rebound spring

I was cleaning the bolt to my MKIII and when I went to put it back together, the rebound spring that goes into the bolt is no where to be found! Will Ruger be able to replace this part for me? Also, the rebound spring support is quite bent. Is this the way it is supposed to be? If not, could the ben...

Roll Pin

OK. I just ordered a set of roll pin punches from Brownells since I have no tools that will remove the roll pin which is what I seem to have. Can anyone tell me what size I need to get it out? Then I will detailstrip the ruger and see if that helps. Please standby!

Hi Bullseye, What do you think I should, if anything, try to replace? This failure to fire is the only problem I am having with the gun. Removing the LCI took care of the other jam problems I was having. I have read everyones replies, and I admit I am a little confused. Still trying to learn where p...

Minimmags are all I have shot to break in my Ruger Hunter. Thanks for the advice. So, are you saying I should replace the roll pin? It seems to be in there rather tightly. Whare do I get the proper punch for roll pins? Thanks. Cheryl
