Heat and H2O is the enemy of ammo. As long as it is dry cold should not affect it..

I too shoot and carry a Kimber Ultra (Eclipse Ultra II). Before I started carrying the Ultra I carried a Pro size Kimber. I have had a Kimber of one size or another on my hip for 10 years now and have NEVER experianced a malfunction. Then again I have been a "1911 Guy" for as long as I can remember....

There are two types of hammers for the 1911 pistols with different half cock hooks. We will call them (for arguements sake) "Original" and "Series 80" Kimber uses an "Original" hammer, Colt uses both, Springfield uses mainly "Series 80" and others as they see fit. An "Original" should not fall from ...

I'm a lifelong 1911 shooter and a Kimber shooter for the last 10+ years. I have carried a Pro size Kimber for most of those 10+ years. I carry mostly inside the waistband with a Milt Sparks Versa Max II holster and a Beltman.net belt. (I threw this in mainly for wolfflatwin but all should heed) The ...

If you wait a day or two and have not been shooting corrosive (mainly old military) ammo, it should be fine.

But the longer you wait the more those deposits will solidify and make your cleaning task all the hardrer...

Hakaman

The Glocks in the vid link you provided are Both Gen 3's but one with the Rough Textured Finish (RTF) that Glock tried out a couple of years ago and didn't catch on.

The Gen4's have a different RTF (less aggressive) and a whole lot more user friendly...

I'll take the Kimber Custom Target over the Springfield Range Officer. Basicly the same pistol at pretty much the same price. The Kimber is a bit more refined and just plain feels better in my hand with a much better trigger...

Coastie, there is much to agree with in your post, but I think corporate america needs to show us the way first, by not being so frickn greedy. They ask the workers to take concessions while they get big bonuses (and I mean big!). Haka I agree that it is a two way street but using U.S. Repeating Ar...

I cannot comment on their reasons for use but extractor tension is much easier to set when you use a spring to set the tension rather than bending the device. R, Bullseye I think you may have hit that one in the X ring, makes sense to me after bending the extractors for my SA's. Ditto that. I find ...

Although the Springfield XDm is a fine pistol, I seriously doubt that Springfield has the financial capibility to manufacture it in the USA as would be required by any Military contract. Besides if we are to move to a non 1911 base .45acp sidearm, S&W's M&P45 is ready to fill the need. We don't need...
