I have been using the range command mp3's that Bullseye mentioned for quite a while now. I think it is very beneficial to use them during practice. I don't know if you are currently shooting in any live matches, but either way, it really helps to use them. I always struggled in real matches and stil...

Ruger MKIII, Ultradot, CCI SV,50' indoors

This is the best I've shot in a long time, wish I could shoot like this consistently. I don't think I was doing anything different, it's like shooting just felt easy today.

It is possible you ended up with some bad ammo. In about 4 years of shooting CCI SV, one time I bought about 700 rounds of CCI SV that was unlike the rest I had ever bought. It had some very light loads, one round did not leave the barrel, and a couple rounds later I had a case rupture, ouch, it hur...

I love CCI SV, it's probably some of the best .22 ammo for the price. It's very reliable and will easily shoot sub one inch groups a fifty feet out of my Ruger. I don't know of a copper coated standard velocity, and most are waxed.

Well, I shot my new gun Monday night in a league practice, and it shot great. I had a 199 rapid fire, it felt really good to have it back. This replacement does have a different serial number, if anyone was wondering. I was surprised it didn't have any extraction problems, I left the factory extract...

Well, I picked up my gun today, and I was pleasantly surprised, Ruger ended up replacing my whole gun. I don't know why the woman at Ruger told me they just replaced the barrel/receiver, but, they replaced the whole gun. I must say I had doubts about this whole thing, with they way it was going at t...

I agree with the above posts that the barre/receiver could be rotated slightly when fully installed. I know on my MKIII it can be rotated a fair amout, but the bolt stop pin portion of the mainspring centers the receiver back up when installed. If the bolt stop pin holes in the after market receiver...

I know for sure that they replaced the barrel/receiver, because I had to give them the address of the FFL I wanted it shipped to. I still don't really know why they replaced the upper on the gun, it did have breech face battering like your gun did, but that would be the only reason I can think of. A...

Glad to here they did end up replacing it for you. I got an email today stating that my gun has been shipped to my FFL. So I will finally have it back after about 35 business days. About double the amount of time that I was told it should take. I understand things happen and they can't predict exact...

Georgezilla, have you heard anything from Ruger or got your gun back yet, I was just wondering since you mentioned in another post that you had also been waiting a while on getting your gun back. I'm still waiting.

The rings that come with Ultradot's are not that great. One of mine had the head of the screw completely break through the ring, the counter bore that allows the head of the screw to be recessed, was drilled way to far. If it is of any help, I replaced them with Leupold Rifleman vertical split rings...

I talked to Ruger again to day, they said they are updating software and that my gun is boxed and ready to go, but until they get things worked out with the new software, no guns will be sent out. I thought this seemed kind of sloppy for such a big business, they made it sound like it could be a lea...

It seems most people have more trouble with the .45 than the .22. I guess it is more an issue of the greater recoil, than the trigger weight. I haven't started shooting any 1800 or 2700 matches yet, but would like to at some point.

Trigger pull weight/ Bullseye shooting

I have been wondering about the trigger pull weight between the .22, and .45 for Bullseye shooting. The minimum for the .22 is 2lbs, and 3.5lbs for the .45. I was wondering if anyone uses a 3.5lb trigger pull in both guns. Or just what weight trigger your .22 has.
