The Power rig is out of my price range so I may try the Marvel and see how bad I can mess up a sear.

Ruger Sear

I've been out of the pistol game(and this forum) for a couple of years due to medical and money problems. I sold out all the MK's I had but am getting back in the game again. Just finished tweaking up a 22/45 target with all the VQ parts and am on the prowl for another Hunter. Bullseye, where did yo...

Sounds like the chamber was dirty after that many rounds and did not let the case fully seat. The Ruger MK's will fire with the bolt retracted a tad which will leave the rear of the case unsupported and will blow the case just as happened to you. Happened to me but I only lost the entire plastic par...

Len, You got it right. Of the hundred or so of guns I've owned and sold-traded-kept, the only one I've ever seen that I thought was perfect out of the box was a Browning 12ga. over&under made in Belgium that I bought in Spain around 1960. I haven't seen a firearm since that could not be tweaked out ...

Many years ago, when I was on a PPC pistol team, if you had a revolver spitting lead to the side you had a couple of guys on either side of you on the range ready to start shooting at you. The 'smith who built my PPC pistols had a cure that I'm sure is not approved by the pistol makers. He used a ce...

Len, Whats with the Kel-Tec? I thought you were a bigger is better fan. I have a Kel-Tec P-32,(Mommas gun) 2 P-3at's and a P-40 and think they are great little pistols. On the Lee powder measure: I have used one for years and the only thing I find wrong is that it will not drop flake powder consiste...

This is the only place I've been able to find anything like an original MK11 hammer. http://tinyurl.com/2qsmwq I ordered two of them and managed to make one good one out of the parts. You have to order the hammer, strut and pin seperately. The hammers I received were pretty rough but can be polished...

If all else fails you may want to try this trick.
This fix has held up for several thousand rounds in my pistol.

I've got a 4.5X14 Mueller on my CZ .17 and love it. A lot of scope for the money.
This guy has the best price I've found and ships quickly.

Go to Rimfirecentral.com and check/search the CZ forum for a bunch of good comments on the scope.

Song Dawg, I wish I could do a video of the mod but it looks like you have the idea now. As long as you are modding the MK11 there is another little thing I came up with that will keep you from having the hammer strut hang up on the sear spring pin and holding the hammer up so that the bolt won't co...

Bullseye, My camera is on the fritz and in the shop. The mag has a full length protrusion on the back side that is about 1/4in. wide. I filed a rounded slot to match that profile in the center of the release just deep enough that the "bump" on the mag does not touch the release at all. The "ears" th...

Song Dawg,

Nah, you didn't miss anything. It's just that the little mod allows you to hit the release, turn it loose, and the mag drops without you having to hold the release back with a finger or thumb.

And if you get a Ranch Products release and want to get a free fall mag just use a round file to cut a channel in the face of the release to match the bump on the back of the mag. The lips on either side of the channel you make in the release will keep the mag in position but won't drag on the mag w...

Blindpig,
It's been way too hot here lately to get out to an open range. Hard to get much trigger time in with sweat running down into your eyes all the time.
The AR is all tweaked out and I'm just waiting on some decent weather to get some bullets down range.

Bullseye,

Many happy returns with the forum. Your expertise and time spent sharing it has helped me and many others over some bad bumps in the Ruger road.
It's hard to believe it has been two years. Time flies when you are having fun.
