It appears that using Remington "golden bulletins" remedied the problem.

I think the total including part of the shipping was about $130. You better call customer service to be sure. It came back basically a new gun.

It must be the bolt not doing back far enough. The next shell is not being picked up from the magazine and really jamming stuff up. (By the way, I'm a long time "new" member...over 7 years. I come this forum when I have problems with my Rugers. I purchased my first Ruger, a Standard pistol in the mi...

Couldn't find any CCI Min-mags. Will have to use some Remington "Golden Bullets" or "Yellow Jackets" that I have on hand. (No comments on their quality.) Another question: How is it possible for the trigger to reset without the empty case being ejected? Is the bolt begin blown back just far enough f...

When you cycle the bolt, after the hammer is cocked, does it feel gritty as it moves back and forth? R, Bullseye Hard to tell for sure, but don't think so. There is a "hesitation" about halfway back when the hammer is cocked. I don't feel it when pulling the bolt back when the hammer is not cocked....

Problem with recently refurbished Mark II

I recently sent my Mark II in to be refurbished. It came back looking like a new from the factory gun. All the nicks and scratches are gone and the brushed finish looks great. The original two piece bolt was replaced by the updated one piece bolt. As a part of the refurbish, they replaced the bolt a...

I have three other centerfire revolvers. All of their cylinders got a good brushing. I think that I had better shape up when it comes to my cleaning procedures. I always have made sure the bore is super clean, but I think that I was a bit lax on the cylinders. Those darn boresnakes are just too easy...

Couldn't find a chamber brush locally. Bought a 10mm bronze brush and scrubbed the heck out of all of the chambers. That "got-r-done".

Extraction Problem S&W Model 36

Problem with extraction from one chamber of the cylinder on my S&W Model 36. Purchased new in 1983. Rarely used...really "pristine". Spent case will not eject from one chamber. Used three different manufacturers' ammo (new)...158 gr. semiwadcutters. Case will eject part way and then no farther. Need...

Yep, I agree a....good choice and a very nice lookin' gun. Every once in a while I get the "itch" for a high capacity 9mm. I've had this "itch" off and on for several years and it always seems to vanish before I get a chance to scratch it. I have my S&W Model 36 and two .357 mag Rugers. "9mm?...I do...

Ruger Redhawk hammer link hook ?

My Redhawk is in the serial number range that has the hammer link hook pointing downward. The current Instruction Manual directs you to reverse the hook when reassembling so that it points upward for "improved performance". So what is the "improved performance"? Been shooting the gun for 25 years wi...

I read a lot and post little, but here goes. I too am "getting up there" at age 68. I still hunt with a rifle, handgun and bow and plan on doing so for many more years....but at a slower pace. I plan on keeping all of my guns until I can no longer pull the trigger. I seem to have a continuing urge t...

Been thinking about buying a 442 because it's a bit lighter than my Model 36 which by the way is still LNIB and I'd like to keep it that way. (Purchased it in the early 80's.) And being a sort of "old guy" too, I'll listen to you guys who I am quite sure are not into "tacti-cool". bearandoldman, I h...
