Yeah really it is but I like to get my rifle dialed in better than that if I can that way if I mess it up I know it was all me. If my rifles shooting 2 or 3 inches off & I'm shooting a couple inches off that could add up to a missed animal or worse yet a wounded deer running around & that's the last...

That's the problem that I guess I left out originaly, after going to hornady's 300gr xtp's I can finally get it under 4" at 100yds. I'm guessing the sloppy chamber with such a long forcing cone is most of the problem. If I could get some tighter consistent groups out of it I would be fine with leavi...

.44 mag reamed to .445 super mag or .444 marlin cut to 1.8&q

I'm considering rechambering my .44 mag encore rifle barrel. The factory chamber is what seems a little extreme to me. It's got right at .685" from the start of the forcing cone to the leade edge of the rifling. I don't know a lot about chambers yet but that seems like a lot of jump for the bullet t...

Nice job. It's not really a hard task to do if a guy is patient & careful especially with all the how to's that bullseye has posted on this site. I use 4-40 screws on my triggers. Seems to work out real good for me. Some use 6-32 but I find the smaller screws work better especially for the pre-trave...

My neighbor has a H&R handi rifle that started life as .357 mag & he has hogged it out to a .357 max chamber & that rifle is an absolute blast to shoot & its extremely accurate. I thought about picking one up & doing the same to it for a deer rifle for my daughter as he still has the reamers but if ...

Thanks guys. I haven't started loading any yet. I'm still in the research & education process. I figure this is one project that it wouldn't hurt to be patient & get all the info I can before I actually start loading anything. My buddy is gonna come over & show me what to & not to do once I get read...

.44 mag reloading ?'s

I am just getting ready to start loading my own hunting ammo. I shoot a T/C encore w/ a 20" .44 mag rifle barrel & also have an encore 12" pistol barrel. I have some hornady FTX 225 gr & XTP 240 gr bullets after that any recommendations on what powder & charge weights to start out with? I know I'll ...

Oh, I see. That explains why my guy was saying hes not showing the 6" available at all. He has several distributers he goes thru & he is checking w/ them to see if there is one laying around somewhere. I'll let you know if he has any luck. Biggjimm.

Do you know what the part or stocking # for the 6" tactical model is? Then I could clarify & he might could find it easier because I think that you're right. His inventory screen didn't specify barrel length & I can only locate a "match" model in 6" on centerfire systems web page. The correct # coul...

Just left the new lgs & he said he can get the tactical for $639.00 but it didn't specify barrel length for some reason??? He's gonna check with his supplier & see what the deal is.

What is centerfire systems price? Their website is down or something, I can't pull it up. Also there's a new gun store in town that just opened this week & my neighbor was telling me this evening of how the guy said he could get just about any hard to find guns because he placed a $140,000 order wit...

BFD, it's a 5" & its not the tactical model just the 1911 A1 FS. He sold a 5" tactical a couple weeks back but he thinks he can get another tactical in either 5" or 6" He's gonna do some digging & as soon as he figures something out I'll get that info to you.

It's definitely for sale & he said he had a couple more in the back that he hadn't got a chance to put out yet. I don't know for sure if they were RIA's or some other 1911's he was supposed to get a couple Remington's in so that might have been what he was talking about. He has several 1911's in sto...

I got my new sights from tru-glo in under a week as promised. When I installed them they fit nice & tight. I had to fit the rear, it has a little hump on the dovetail, I guess to make sure they're tight, I had to remove that & they fit fine. Actually they were kind of a bear to get in but I wanted t...

My bud at the gun store just got one of those tactical RIA's in the other day. Not site if it's 5" or 6" but it is a really nice gun. Makes me wish I hadn't got rid of mine, not that I regret trading it for the xdm 40, just wish I had both. I actually like that tactical model better than the nickel ...
