I used the hammer and sear and the sear only - Couldn't tell any difference so get just the sear and you will be GTG. I would also get the VQ trigger - Allows external adjustment of pre-travel and over travel and that is a good thing... :)

Stay away from the Remmy ammo - Use Federal or CCI instead.

The VQ sear and trigger are all that is needed IMO - Hammer does not add much...

Congrats on your new pistol! Ruger pistols are a great way to teach your Grandsons how to handle a firearm safely and the basics of marksmanship. Not to mention the memories they will always carry of quality time spent with their Grandpa! :)

Welcome to Guntalk-Online! Great site with lots of great info and helpful folks as you see. Nice pistol you have there - The VQ sear and trigger are fantastic upgrades and are not difficult to do. I've done all 3 of my Ruger pistols and love the results. Enjoy your new pistol!

Here is my 22/45 with a Bushnell Trophy 2-6x32 - She normally wears a red dot sight. Scope works better on a longer barrel, IMO...
