My membership in the NRA has expired, or will shortly. NRA mail goes direct to the recycling bin without being opened. It takes about 5 minutes to scan AR and it goes in the bin too. NRA is all about the money now. Never enough, always asking for more. When I see Wayne LaPierre flying coach, wearing...

.30-30 lever action choices?

A friend wants a .30-30 Lever. He's narrowed his choices to a Henry Big Boy, Marlin 336C or a Rossi. He asked me for advice and I just don't have the experience to help him in any significant way. T'was me, I'd fork over the cash for the Henry just based on my experience with my Big Boy in .45LC. He...

You know what really makes me uneasy, is to think the dems might get re-elected in 2016. If they do, it is very conceivable that they will win the 2020 election too, as most pres' get two terms. No wonder why people get the doomsday attitude these days. "Might"??? Unless the Republicans pull their ...

One of the things I've noticed over the years is the lighter the rifle the bigger the felt recoil, especially with 30-06 round. This is a field gun and therefore made to be hauled around the countryside so they made them lightweight for that purpose. One of the harder recoiling 30-06's I thought wa...

Ruger M77 Shooters, Step in

Daughter just got gifted an M77 in .30-06 We took it out to sight it in today, using 165 and 180 gr. loads. Got it sighted in and it shoots nice groups, but man, that thing kicks like a mule! It's been a long while since I've shot an Aught Six, but it kicks WAY harder than my Rem 700 in .308 One opi...

This particular instance was (or should have been) harmless. I could see myself posting a similar picture. However, the stupidity of some folks just leaves me breathless. There are almost daily examples of people shooting themselves in the foot via Facebook. Folks have lost their job, or failed to g...

Then he hit me up for a .44 magnum barrel to go with it. That request set me up perfectly to suggest a haircut and a job.
I like yer style! :D

Yep, better stick with the .45 and add a loop to your belt for scissors.
Can't do that, my Mom won't let me run with scissors...

I've said it before and I'll say it again: The people that get it, get it. The people that don't get it will NEVER get it. The scary part is that the people that don't get it, or don't care, are very close to being in the majority now, if they aren't already. As evidence, I give you the recent elect...

Sorry, I have a weakness for sarcasm.

The problem is that those of us that get it can't do anything about it, and those that don't think that it's logical.

Sigh...

And this surprises you in some way?

How many of the Hollyweird Moonbat Liberals have armed guards/escorts but don't think us fly-over folks should be allowed to defend ourselves?

He said he wanted a handgun for home defense. She wanted to surprise him with one. Bad idea IMHO. Better to take him to a gun shop and let HIM pick out what he wants and then pay for it. Too much chance of getting him something he doesn't want, or doesn't fit him, or wrong caliber or any of a dozen...

Re: Clay Pigeon Clips

Those clips are nice but too pricey in my opinion. I use paper clips to accomplish the same thing and if you should accidentally hit one, no big deal. Paper clips are also almost impossible to shoot off the line or cord or chain or whatever you hang them from, so clean up is limited to just the rem...
