Re: About gone but not forgetten

I still look in occasionally. I still have 4 mark 2s, and my wife has a red mark 3. Don’t shoot nearly as much as I used to.

Re: About gone but not forgetten

I still scroll through every few months, usually don’t bother to log in though. Not much new anymore. And that’s sad.

Yes. It was the sear pin. I took the grips off today, and saw where the pin had slipped out of the frame. Easy fix, I put a piece of tape on it. The grips have been on there a long time, may have loosened up enough to let pin slip without me noticing. Thanks for the help. Just glad I don't have to s...

Mark 2 problem

I have a Mark 2 5.5 bull barrel that I bought new in 2003. Have had zero problems with it until now. Got it out yesterday and when you put the safety on, then pull the trigger, you hear a small click. When the safety is taken off, the pistol will fire with the lightest pressure on the trigger. Any i...

I have a Springfield mil-spec. Love it. The only reason I don't own a Colt also is the price of a used one.

I like the adjustable sight models also, but I have a fixed sight 50th anniversary model that I can shoot almost as well as the others.

About a month ago, I was in a small gunshop in Springfield, OH, and they had an Erma 22 luger in the case. Impulse buy, brought it home and gave it a good cleaning. It shoots fairly well, a few inches low at 25 yards, jams once every couple of mags. Likes the 40 grain solids, no hollowpoints. Only h...

Nice! My dad used to have a HS Military model. It shot pretty well, but I seem to remember it jamming a lot also. Don't remember what happened to it, he probably traded it off at a gunshow.

AMT Automag

My neighbor is in the middle of a divorce, and is selling some of his guns to pay lawyer fees. He sold me a 22 mag AMT Automag 2 tonight for a very good price, and I was wondering if someone could point me to a set of breakdown instructions, would like to clean and lube it before I take it to the ra...

The 50th anniversary MK II's also have the round tube all the way back, no relief cuts. Noticed this on mine, then went on gunbroker to check some pictures out. The relief cuts do make it easier to hold the bolt.

Someone mentioned a dry lube made by Remington maybe? Is this worh looking into? I have a tendency to overlube my Mark 2's. Have been meaning to look for it, but forgot the last couple of times I was out.

Picked up two bricks at Walmart yesterday, still at $10, but the sales lady said they were going up that afternoon, to around $12 a brick. Still a good price, just not as good as before.
