I picked up an older Springer Loaded that was way to light for me a while back. After checking with some local experts, I put in a new stock sear spring from Brownells that got the pull back where I wanted it. It's also possible to bend the middle leg of the spring towards the trigger which also put...

Mark II 22/45

Picked up an older 22/45 on a trade recently. It's the short barrel with VQ hammer, trigger, and extractor and fiber optic front sight. Brought it with me on a business trip and got to shoot it the other day. Put about 200 rounds of Winchester 333 down the pipe with no problems. This little fella is...

And since we're talking military, my son is wrapping up his tour in Iraq with the 3rd ID and my daughter did her Army time with the 10th Mountain. Both have served in combat but Dad never did - just lucky I guess...

Using my retired ID has gotten me lots of discounts as well. Times sure change though as I can remember being spit at in the early 70s so you never "advertised" you were military...

For a nifty solution, look at Nitesiters. These are adhesive glow dots that work very well. I have them on the front sight of all my guns that came with no contrast sights. Works great and $10 for an 8 pack...

Thanks for the welcome. I find the DW to be way more accurate than I am, most say it's due to the tensioned barrel. I owned a Mark I some 10-12 years ago but sold it for some silly reason. My only .22 semi right now is a Sig Mosquito - and mine is 100% reliable shooting Walmart Bulk. While 1911s are...

Any .22 revolver fans?

I personally love .22 revolvers as I really like guns that aren't ammo picky. Right now I have a S&W 617 pre-lock with 6 inch barrel and a Dan Wesson with multiple barrels. Another S&W 617 is on the way, the 4 inch 10 shot version. I'm also picking a stainless MK II this weekend. You can't have to m...

New here

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm over 50 and have been shooting and collecting handuns for over 25 years. Retired from the Air Force in the early 90s and now work as a civil servant for the Army in Atlanta. I use the same handle on all the forums so some of you may recognize me from TFL and TH...

I myself only use McCormick or Wilson mags in all my 1911s. I've not had a single problem so I'll stick with what works. CDNN has Wilson 7 rounders at 19.99 right now and I just ordered a half-dozen for my Kimber Tactical Pro...
